Your Mission

As an Electrical Design Engineer in our Energy team at Tractebel, you contribute to the development of large-scale energy projects, delivering innovative and efficient engineering solutions. Our team focuses on designing and optimizing energy infrastructure, ensuring reliability, sustainability, and technical excellence to support the transition to a cleaner and more resilient energy future.

Your key responsibilities

  • You provide technical and economic activities – consultancy/ design – related to large energy projects;
  • You use computer modelling software to produce designs and energy production estimates;
  • You prepare project plans, schedules of work and cost estimates for large energy projects;
  • You liaise with stakeholders, as investors, suppliers, contractors and other engineering and science professionals;
  • You issue Design Notes, Drafts, Specifications, Technical Specifications and Briefs, Progress Reports, etc.;
  • You issue/collaborate to the quality assurance plan of your projects;
  • You carry out site visits and evaluations for new and existing energy projects;
  • You apply the technical regulations and laws relevant for the projects you are involved in;
  • You comply with and enforce compliance with the Health/Safety guidelines set out in the Project Safety Plan;
  • You receive and share the expertise with the projects teams.

We would love to hear from people with  

  • Engineering background (Bachelor / Master Degree), preferable in power engineering/electrical field;
  • Good knowledge of regulations and permitting related to large energy projects;
  • Knowledge of design norms and regulations;
  • Knowledge of design and software tools dedicated to energy projects is a plus;
  • English proficiency, good knowledge of a second language can be an advantage;
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office package;

Your function

  • Design of HV OHLs to meet client specifications and expectations.
  • Participate in the implementation of projects, ensuring compliance with technical regulations and laws.
  • Share expertise and knowledge with project teams to enhance project outcomes.
  • Utilize design software tools, primarily Autocad 2D, and PLS Tower.
  • Ensure adherence to design norms and regulations throughout project phases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project teams to ensure project goals are met.

Candidate’s profile

  • Bachelor´s degree in the field of Engineering .
  • In-depth knowledge of HV OHLs.
  • Familiarity with HV substation design.
  • Proficiency in design software tools, especially Autocad 2D and PLS Tower.
  • Strong understanding of design norms and regulations.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is an added advantage.
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality design work.
  • Dedicated and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, action-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driving license is a plus.

Your mission 

As an Energy Project Manager in our Energy team at Tractebel, you contribute to the development of large-scale energy projects, delivering innovative and efficient engineering solutions. Our team focuses on designing and optimizing energy infrastructure, ensuring reliability, sustainability, and technical excellence to support the transition to a cleaner and more resilient energy future.

Your key responsibilities

  • You manage engineering activities for energy projects, with priority for power generation and renewable projects.
  • You plan and monitor the evolution of the allocated projects.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that the budget, the timing, and the quality of the engineering works are realized as required. You will make sure that the projects assigned to you will be elaborated in accordance to our quality system and our H&S rules.
  • You manage efficiently the project deviations and scope variation.
  • You participate in the engineering projects, elaborate design documentation, make calculations, produce schemes and diagrams within the project teams.  
  • You report progress for all your projects on a weekly basis or based on the required periodicity.
  • You enhance an integrated design process by looking transversally over the different disciplines involved.
  • You respond to the wishes and needs of the Client or of other stakeholders.
  • You participate in offers preparation and negotiation, by case.
  • You aim for sustainable and efficient solutions.
  • You keep up with the standards, guidelines and new techniques and developments in your discipline and report these to your team members or colleagues.
  • You work together with colleagues, external partners (such as architects, site surveyors, other design and engineering consultancies, contractors during the construction phase, etc.) and clients in a positive way.
  • You have an international mindset and collaborate with our offices abroad for certain engineering tasks and take the necessary actions to guarantee the required quality of the projects.

We would love to hear from people with  

  • Master’s degree as a minimum, preferably in power engineering.
  • At least 10 years of relevant project management with engineering projects, preferably for power generation, renewables.
  • Qualification in Project Management (PMP) certificate is an advantage.
  • Experience in using specialized software for generation technology or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent use of MSOffice package.
  • Good knowledge of English is a must.
  • Good reporting skills.
  • Good communication skills, orally and written.
  • Team player skills.
  • Client-oriented and flexible attitude.
  • Willingness to make international trips for our international collaboration and international projects.
  • International driving license “B” is required.

  • You respond to the requirements and needs of the client.

  • You keep up with the standards, guidelines and new techniques and developments in your discipline and report these to your team members or colleagues.
