Your mission   

As a CAD Designer in our Ports and Waterways department you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in the day to day designing of our projects and cooperating with our engineers in order to bring our designs up to the Tractebel standard our clients are used to! 

  

 

Your key responsibilities     

  • You are responsible for the execution of Revit/BIM modelling for our marine infrastructure projects 
  • You are responsible for reinforcement modelling in marine and infrastructure projects
  • You assist the project engineer in dimensioning marine infrastructure projects following current Belgian and European standards, legislation, codes of practice and internal guidelines.
  • Prepare designs (preliminary, basis, tender, detailed) for marine structures such as Port & waterways development studies: Port Master planning, locks, Quay walls, Jetties, Bridge foundations, Flooding areas, dikes, Breakwaters and perform analyses to find the optimum installation method of these structures; always with an open mind for innovative and alternative solutions. 
  • You are reporting to the project leader and your team manager
  • You develop your technical skills (BIM, Revit, Autocad…) 
  • You carry out design throughout the execution of our marine infrastructure projects

  

We would love to hear from people with   

  • A specific interest in applying the relevant design codes and guidelines for the structural design and soil-structure interaction of offshore substructures or other marine infrastructure
  • Experience of designing and drafting marine infrastructure works in 3D drafting software (Revit)
  • Experience in designing concrete reinforcement in complex 3D structures.
  • Knowledge of Design Standards (ISO, EC, NEN, EAU, …)
  • Knowledge of standards for Building Consent (omgevingsvergunning) in Flanders (Belgium) is an asset 
  • Expertise of BIM/ CAD software (3D)  (Revit, Autocad,…)
  • Experience in the following software is a plus Civil 3D, BIM360
  • Knowledge of standard computer programs including spreadsheets and word processing.
  • A Bachelor in Civil Engineering or bachelor in engineering technologies or have 3 years relevant experience
  • A decent knowledge of Dutch

Your mission
  
As a Senior Lead Engineer in Structural Engineering, you will join Tractebel's Structural Engineering team, a key player in delivering complex infrastructure projects in Belgium and internationally. Our team comprises approximately 120 experts, lead engineers, design engineers, BIM modelers, and CAD draftsmen working from four locations in Belgium (Ghent, Hasselt, Brussels, and Namur) and in Romania.

The choice of which Belgian office you want to work from is entirely up to you.

 

Your key responsibilities 

 

  • Leading and managing structural engineering projects from concept to execution, ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • Acting as an expert in structural engineering, providing technical design reviews and guidance for other projects within the department.
  • Driving the use of BIM and parametric design to enhance project efficiency and innovation.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including design engineers, geotechnical engineers, and draftsmen, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Preparing and presenting project proposals, offers, and contracts in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Ensuring adherence to Tractebel’s quality system and health & safety regulations throughout project execution.
  • Reporting project progress regularly to the management team.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

  • A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 20 years of experience in structural engineering projects, particularly involving complex infrastructures such as bridges, tunnels, railways, and airports.
  • Proven expertise in leading and managing engineering projects, with experience across all project phases, including sales, contracts, design, studies, tendering, and execution.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with BIM and parametric design.

Your mission

 

As Project Director in our Infrastructure division you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in the proper follow-up and execution of major integrated infrastructure projects,  each characterised by their specific context and often involving major works of art (tunnels, bridges,...). 

 

Your key responsabilities

 

  • Supervising the commercial trajectory of large projects in close consultation with the URBAN commercial team, taking into account the following aspects:
    •     identification and analysis of technical, financial and contractual risks
    •     validation of the technical content
    •     calculation of price and profitability
    •     drafting of agreements
  • The allocation and planning of staff to projects
  • Ensuring the overall management of the realisation of the projects in consultation with the project teams (contractual, financial, technical and management aspects)
  • Managing the project teams by indicating the objectives and guidelines to be taken into account during the execution of the projects (quality, cost, deadline)
  • Being the direct contact of the clients for the execution of the contracts, in particular: invoicing, payments, drafting of appendices and claims;
  • Updating and maintaining the data so that a state of affairs can be drawn up on a quarterly basis of
    • The total and yet to be realised income
    • The total and yet to be realised expenses
    • The profitability of the projects under your scope
  • The effective use of specialised knowledge
  • Contribute to the annual evaluation of the employees for whom you are responsible for functional management 
  • Draw up the project's safety plan and check its knowledge and application by the members of the project teams
  • Within your projects you will take into account all aspects of infrastructure projects, such as integration into the landscape, mobility, safety, sustainability, etc.

Jouw missie

 

Als Project Engineer Demolition in onze afdeling Rehabilitation of Industrial Sites, draag je elke dag bij aan onze missie door een cruciale rol te spelen in het begeleiden van projecten op het gebied van het uitvoeren van studies en opvolgen van de uit te voeren werken betreffende het verwijderen van asbest en het slopen van energiecentrales en industriële installaties, waste management, bodem- en grondwatersanering. 
 

Je belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden 

 

  • Meedenken en mee uitwerken van de uitvoering van (selectieve) sloopopdrachten, inclusief asbestverwijdering, waarbij historisch, bouwkundig en architectonisch belangrijke gedeelten van te slopen gebouwen behouden blijven;
  • Uitvoeren van voorbereidende studies die de sloopwerken voorafgaan; 
  • Opvolgen en superviseren van het uitvoeren van werken inzake sloop;
  • Deelnemen aan geïntegreerde multidisciplinaire teams voor het saneren en herontwikkelen van sterk verontreinigde industriële sites;
  • Project management en contacten met cliënteel zijn belangrijk.

 

We horen graag van mensen met

 

  • Je hebt een Master in de ingenieur wetenschappen - bouwkunde;
  • Ervaring in bouw- of infrastructuurprojecten is een pluspunt;
  • Minimaal 5 jaar ervaring in het uitvoeren of begeleiden van asbestverwijdering en/of sloopopdrachten;

Your mission 

  • You will be a player throughout the execution of our marine and civil infrastructure projects;

  • You will take the lead in the design and calculation of steel structures from concept study to execution;

  • You dimension steel structures following current Belgian and European standards, legislation, codes of practice and internal guidelines;

  • You are creative in looking for structural solutions to specific problems, taking into account design and budget;

  • You will be part of a multidisciplinary project team of engineers and draftsmen for projects with a strong focus on projects in marine and civil infrastructure;

  • You will prepare designs (preliminary, basis, tender, detailed) for marine and infrastructure projects such as:  lock doors, jetties, gate valves, barrages, flood protection structures, bridges, etc.;  

  • You take on a role as a design engineer of the project and coordinate with and coach our junior engineers and CAD designers;

  • You follow up and verify the drafting work with the CAD designers;

  • You develop your technical skills (SCIA Engineer, Ansys, …);

  • You ensure knowledge development and sharing related to your expertise and coach junior engineers;

  • You keep up with standards, new techniques and developments in your discipline;

 

 

Your profile 

  • You are a qualified Master of Science in Structural Engineering with a Major in ‘Construction Design’ or ‘Dredging and Off-Shore Engineering’ or ‘Marine Engineering’

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant technical experience in the design and engineering of steel structures and infrastructure projects such as bridges, port infrastructure, lock doors, barrages, sheet piles, anchors, jetties, or large civil infrastructure works, including calculation on structures;

  • You have experience in designing steel elements in complex 3D structures

  • You have an understanding of the applicable construction techniques and are eager to keep your knowledge in line with current methods.

  • You have extensive knowledge of current Belgian and European Design Standards, legislation, codes of practice (ISO, EC, NEN, EAU, SB250, SB260…) 

 

Software knowledge

  • You possess expertise in modelling with SCIA Engineer or equivalent software.

Jouw missie

 

Als Project Manager Infrastructure in onze afdeling Infrastructure, vanuit ons kantoor in Gent of Hasselt,  draag je elke dag bij aan onze missie door een cruciale rol te spelen in het ontwerpen en bestuderen van projecten zoals wegen, tramverbindingen, luchthavens, tunnels en bruggen. 
Daarnaast speelt het ontwerpen van rioleringssystemen een cruciale rol, met aandacht voor klimaatverandering en duurzaam waterbeheer.


Je belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden  
 

  • Als Project Manager Infrastructure ben je verantwoordelijk voor het geometrisch en structureel ontwerp van snelwegen, gewestwegen en stedelijke wegen, trams, metro's en start_en landingsbanen. Je richt je voornamelijk op projecten in België (Vlaanderen en Brussel), waarbij je betrokken bent bij alle fasen van het project, van initiatie tot oplevering.
  • In je rol houd je rekening met alle aspecten van infrastructuurstudies, waaronder ruimtelijk ontwerp, mobiliteit, veiligheid en duurzaamheid. Je zorgt ervoor dat projecten voldoen aan de geldende wet- en regelgeving en werkt samen met diverse stakeholders, waaronder overheidsinstanties, ingenieurs en aannemers.
  • Met minimaal 4 jaar ervaring breng je diepgaande kennis van infrastructuur en projectmanagement mee. Je hebt uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden en werkt graag in teamverband, waarbij samenwerking en motivatie centrale waarden zijn.
  • Daarnaast blijf je op de hoogte van de nieuwste ontwikkelingen en innovaties in je vakgebied, zoals duurzame technologieën en slimme infrastructuuroplossingen. Je hebt een proactieve houding en draagt bij aan het verbeteren van processen en werkwijzen binnen het team.

 
We horen graag van mensen met  
 

  • Een relevante opleiding – Master diploma ingenieurswetenschappen of industriële wetenschappen, in civiele techniek, infrastructuur of aanverwante vakgebieden.
  • Minimaal 4 jaar ervaring – Relevante projectmanagement ervaring binnen de infrastructuursector.
  • Technisch ontwerp – Kennis van geometrisch en structureel ontwerp van infrastructuur.
  • Regelgeving en duurzaamheid – Inzicht in relevante wetgeving en duurzame praktijken.
  • Softwarevaardigheden – Bekendheid met Ms Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D en projectmanagementsoftware (MS Project)
  • Budgettering en risicobeheer – Vaardigheden in kostenbeheer en risicoanalyse.
  • Stakeholdermanagement – Ervaring in het beheren van verwachtingen van belanghebbenden.
  • Taalvaardigheden – Je spreekt vloeiend Nederlands (moedertaal) en Engels. Een goede kennis van het Frans is een sterke troef.

Your mission  
As a BIM Design Engigeer Infrastructure in our Infrastructure department you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in designing projects related to roads, tramways, airports, tunnels and bridges. 

 

Your key responsibilities  
 

  • Model Development: Create and optimize 3D BIM models for road infrastructure projects, from rimary to secondary roads, including sewage & drainage systems.
  • Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate BIM into workflows.
  • Quality Control: Review models for accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Data Management: Organize and maintain project data and documentation.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize BIM software (e.g., Revit, Civil 3D) for design and analysis.
  • Coordination: Lead meetings to resolve design conflicts and align project goals.
  • Training and Support: Mentor team members on BIM best practices and tools.

 

 We would love to hear from people with  
 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (Civil or Industrial).
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in BIM and infrastructure projects.
  • BIM Software Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D design packages, particularly Civil 3D whcih is a MUST
  • Pipes Expertise: Strong experience with piping design in Civil 3D is a plus.
  • GIS Knowledge: Familiarity with GIS tools for spatial data integration and analysis.
  • BIM Tools Experience: Experience with BIM software packages such as BIM 360 and Navisworks is highly recommended.
  • 3D Modeling and Technical Drawing: Proficient in creating and manipulating 3D models and producing technical drawings and specifications. You have experience with road design standards, methods and practices
  • Language Proficiency: Good command of at least two of the following languages, with excellent writing skills: Dutch, English, French.
