What You Can Expect

The Director of Asset Management – ERCOT West is the Profit and Loss (P&L) owner of several Wind, Solar, and Battery storages assets. The goal of the Director is to develop and foster best practices in terms of Asset Management as well as a collaborative work with internal and external stakeholders as well as centers of expertise to ensure maximization of profitability across our fleet.

 

  • Asset Management
    • Lead Asset Managers:
    • Responsible for the management of ENGIE’s assets with the main goal to maximize our risk adjusted return
    • Management of overall P&L and cash positions
    • Review, negotiate, or amend contracts to improve asset performance and mitigate risks. Scope of contracts under management include Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Landowner agreements, Service agreements, Asset Optimization agreements, and others
    • Technical aspects of each asset and coordinate with Operations to maximize site performance through performance evaluation (liaising with Operations and Performance Analysis)
    • Initiatives to improve asset operational and financial performance and protect long-term value
    • Ensure that project budgets are developed with prudent understanding and assumptions of revenue sources, expenses, and capital expenditures
    • Ensure that our assets operate in full compliance with market rules and all agreements
  • Leadership
    • Promote an inclusive and empowered culture within the team
    • Lead team members in providing direction, guidance, and support in their growth
    • Develop and foster stakeholder relationships both internally and externally with peers, counterparties, and stakeholders
    • Provide constructive feedback enabling team members to grow in their career and foster continuous improvement of skills and performance
    • Ensure appropriate level of prioritization to have team members focused on the essential while maintaining work-life balance
  • Organization
    • Shape the organization by developing and deploying new processes, systems, and tools to further industrialize the activity towards efficiency and value creation according to current growth
    • Leverage internal expertise, amongst others: operations, trading/energy management, accounting, treasury, FP&A, Legal, and Power marketing to achieve high quality deliverables and ensure appropriate experts are capable to answer in an efficient manner to stakeholder needs
    • Act as a bridge-builder to leverage the best of our vertically integrated organization to achieve superior value creation through the asset lifecycle
    • Ensure activity and information transparency to have all our departments at the right level of knowledge/understanding to be efficient in their role

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelors’ degree (Finance, Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration or Economics)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience
  • Broad experience in all aspects of the power industry with a demonstrated understanding of power plant operations and economics
  • Experienced team leader with a focus on P&L management, renewables asset management, and team development
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Detail-oriented individual who will work proactively to pursue value creation
  • Highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with internal and external parties
  • Understanding of:
  • Renewables’ financials models: Tax equity, Cash equity, and Debt
  • Partnership agreements (LLCAs,)
  • Asset contractual arrangements (power purchase agreements, long term service agreements, easement agreements, asset management agreements)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $166,900 – $255,070 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
