What You Can Expect

The Project Delivery, Director offers strategic leadership for a dynamic portfolio of projects, proactively mitigating risks by addressing potential issues early. They provide tactical leadership and strategic direction to a team of Construction Department Managers, Project Engineers, managers and staff of Construction QA/QC, Construction Commissioning, and Construction Site Managers, ensuring successful management of project scopes, schedules, budgets, and safety KPIs.

 

In this role, the Project Delivery-Services, Director will develop strategic project objectives and oversee projects from late-stage development, through pre-construction, construction phase through to project close-out. The Project Delivery-Services, Director will collaborate with ENGIE Engineering, Delivery Project Management, and Operations Division leadership to ensure commissioning and quality deliverables meet expectations. The Director will provide input on pre-engineering and constructability reviews, drive procurement of long-lead equipment, and assist with construction contracting strategy. Participate in contractor pre-qualification and development to ensure successful project execution. The Project Delivery-Services, Director will be responsible for leading, oversight and management of ENGIE Construction Management, Construction Quality, and Project Commissioning Departments. Ensure that safety, quality, cost, environmental, landowner, and legal requirements are met or exceeded. Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas and effectively communicate relevant information to senior management.

 

  • Contracting and RFP Process:  Support the Pre-Construction Department by actively participating in the contracting RFP process for assigned projects through contract execution

  • Project Integration: Manage the integration of development and construction execution functions for committed projects
  • Leadership and Strategy: Provide tactical leadership for the preparation and maintenance of detailed project execution strategies, including contracting strategies, construction management execution plans, commissioning strategies, quality control strategies, construction plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Project Execution: Ensure the overall success of project execution by consistently implementing construction management tools for each assigned project
  • Technical Guidance and RFP process: Understand the implications of various technical options and can guide engineering designs to achieve the best solution for each situation. Support the balance-of-plant process, preparation of bid documents, and the Request for Proposal process, assist with the negotiation of construction and Long-Term Service contracts. Ensure the execution of work in accordance with contracts and policies
  • Financial Analysis and Compliance: Consolidate and analyze budgets, costs, forecasts, and utilization against established financial goals
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders (Construction Management Advisor, Directors of Construction QA/QC and Commissioning, Delivery Project Management group, and Delivery Manager Specialist) to develop resources, plan, and hire competent field staff for effective project execution
  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide strategic direction and manage the development of staff in the Construction QA/QC and Commissioning departments. Supervise, guide, and mentor staff in the Delivery Construction Services group. Support HR in recruiting and developing job descriptions for the Delivery Services Group. Lead candidate review, interviews, and recommendations to grow the Delivery Services Group
  • Build Customer Relationships: Develop effective relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, landowners, and other stakeholders. Establish effective and supportive relationships with colleagues, and solicit input from, staff at all levels of the organization. Reinforce a team approach throughout the enterprise, both on projects and internal initiatives

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of equivalent technical training. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Engineering or Master of Business Administration 
  • Minimum of 10 years in the utility scale energy sector including renewable energy or industrial construction or capital project management
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent, preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management and constructing methods for large projects, contract management, procurement, operations, and supply chain management, environmental and building permitting, and transportation logistics
  • Basic knowledge of construction labor relations throughout the U.S and Canada
  • Basic knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes, including Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), National Fire Protection Association, (NFPA), and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
  • Basic knowledge of land surveying methods and practices, aerial photography, and mapping (including UTM and NAD coordinate systems), and geospatial references
  • Basic knowledge of project commissioning phase activities (technology agnostic) and deliverables while developing & managing the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) documents for each specific project in execution
  • Ability to interpret documents produced in AutoCAD, GIS, and other discipline-relevant software
  • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products
  • Understanding of project/construction management software platforms, preferable Procore and Microsoft Project Online
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise
  • Effective leadership and team-building skills with organizational commitment, ability to demonstrate strategic vision, and ability to work successfully with a team daily in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at our Broomfield, CO office two weeks a month, with the balance of time at project sites or remote/home office   
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 50% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record, for the use of hire cars or personal cars when traveling, to drive to site locations and meetings
  • This position consists of 25% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $146,300 – $224,135 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
