Senior Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Engineer shall be responsible for the day to day operation of the PCMC team, to manage the resources (manpower, tools, equipment, transport) to successfully achieve the on time PPM/predictive and reacive maintenance works. To ensure quality of the works.
To oversee H&S requirements for the PCMC team.
To be the Senior Authorised Person (HV and LV) for the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan, organize, and participate in implementing PPM/reactive works for the Huawei supplied equipments.
• Manage, Organise and prepare electrical shutdown works for MV and LV equipment and systems
• Organise and prepare MV/LV system repair/modification shutdown works.
• Carry role of Senior Engineer to manage all operating aspects of PCMC team.
• Prepare requisitions for materials required for maintenance and repair of MEP systems.
• Manage fault finding and repair on electrical/control systems within the facility, BMS systems, DCIM, UPS, LV infrastructure, MV infrastructure.
• Maintain 100% uptime of MV electrical services - ensuring redundancy in place and pre and post repairs testing is completed.
• Carry out routine testing to determine condition of MV and LV electrical systems and recommend/implement corrective actions.
• Design and install small LV electrical work projects ie. radial supply, ring supply.
• Manage the Issue PPM and CM work from CAFM system & Input of details related to maintenance and repairs.
• Hold role as Senior Authorised Person (HV&LV) countersigning switching plans for AP's.
• Operate within a safe system of work for MEP systems, prepare switching plans, PTW issue and close out, Isolation certificates, Limitation of access, maintain record of all HV switching operations.
• Work hours shift system days/nights - part of 24/7 roster.
• Ensure all works are carried in line with Company Procedures and Policies, Health and Safety, Control of Hazardous materials, in line with COSHH regulations and PPE.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• A highly self-motivated, ambitious individual.
• A person with a high sense of urgency and a pro-active approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
• Use of electrical test equipment including Insulation Resistance, Ductor set, Secondary injection, PD detection, Thermographic, HiPot Cable testing, Hot Phasing, cable detection, HV prove.
• Preparation of periodic/installation/minor work electrical test certificates.
• Manage all technical staff, manage aspects of work and directly supervise HV works.
• Manually lift 25kG weight.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.High energy and action oriented with professional presence.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel when needed to project sites.

• In depth knowledge of Electrical and control systems.

• Proven track record in complex building services engineering systems operation and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have at least 7 years work experience with operation and maintenance of HV and LV switchgear. Must be certified with ADDC or AADC operation and maintenance CP.
• Must hold recognised Degree applicable for electrical engineering.
• Completed power electrical based apprenticeship, electrical test and inspection qualification.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Expert skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, outlook.
• Ability to read, write and speak in clear English.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
