What You Can Expect

As a Director, Natural Gas Portfolio Mexico, you will report to Managing Director, Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) Mexico and indirectly report to VP Trading, ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA). You will be responsible for acquisition, administration and management of natural gas supply in the US, for Mexican customers.

Through your leadership, negotiation skills, and direction, you will build a reliable, low cost natural gas portfolio,   optimize  supply and the use of transportation assets, in order to develop a two-border natural gas market (midstream) whilst enhancing both upstream supply portfolio and downstream gas portfolio.

 

  • Lead the strategy and negotiate natural gas mid-term contract to satisfy its ENGIE customer´s demand
  • Directs and manages daily and monthly gas acquisition and transportation activities in Mexico
  • Direct and coordinate all activities related to gas scheduling, invoicing, pipelines payments & supplier payments in Mexico
  • Create and maintain long-term relationships with all the agents involved in the natural gas supply chain in US and Mexico
  • Strength relationships with all Mexican authorities involved in the border trading activities
  • Develop and execute the strategy to manage the portfolio´s optimization addressed to create a midstream business both in the short-and-long term 
  • Work together with the EEMNA & ENGIE Mexico Leadership, Origination team, Trading, and support functions
  • Deliver gross margin targets and business returns considering risk/reward through the development and execution of customer hedging strategies and structured deals
  • Direct and coordinate all related activities to supply gas contracts in North America, addressed to Mexico Business
  • Direct and coordinate all front, middle and back office activities related to ENGIE Mexico customers
  • Lead the strategy of deal structuring to growth the business in Mexico and midstream markets, through new products and services
  • Work in collaboration with EEMNA/ENGIE Mexico Risk, Legal and Finance department to propose and approve risk management strategies and new products in order to optimize, model and manage the wholesale portfolio
  • Responsible for providing finance and risk department with accurate and timely information to comply with the annual and multiannual budget objectives and risk mandates
  • Keep a developed, complete and well trained team to assure the right performance of all activities related with gas supply in US/Mexico
  • Lead the line pack optimization activity in line with GEMS Risk framework
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results, timely management of deals,  and proven  contract negotiation skills from initiation to execution
  • Represent ENGIE at conferences, client events and presentations

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in which you completed courses in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or other Analytical field
  • Minimum of 10 years in North America and Mexico natural gas markets including scheduling, negotiation, leadership, business structuring and portfolio management with a track record of adding value through commercial delivery and business growth
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with border natural gas markets and  products to structure complex transactions with producers or consumers in North America and Mexico
  • Strong knowledge of North America and Mexico energy Markets and Mexican energy regulation
  • Excellent commercial instinct, creativity and ability to find and create commercial value from multiple sources
  • Visionary and strategic leader with ability to inspire and motivate internal clients on deliverables of objectives
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative within a business environment, especially with key stakeholders and EEMNA & ENGIE Mexico leadership team
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to present to senior executive management both internally and externally
  • Collaborative team player with demonstrated willingness to widely share knowledge and expertise
  • Experience in contract negotiations and execution

Compensation

Salary Range: $128,400 – $196,765 USD annually

 

 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
