Site Manager

RENEWABLE GASES EUROPE (RGE) is ENGIE's business entity responsible for the development of renewable and low-carbon gases[1] production in Europe. Since 2015, ENGIE has been developing biomethane production activity. At the beginning of 2023, its portfolio includes 26 plants in operation, of which 19 are self-operated, with a total production capacity of 550 GWh/y @100% and a development pipeline of 1.4 TWh/y.

ENGIE is determined to become a leading player in 1G[2] biomethane in Europe. The ambition is to grow rapidly to reach 10 TWh/y of biomethane production capacity by 2030.

In Europe, outside France, biomethane production projects are already under development in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland and Italy. Spain, Portugal and Romania are other countries of interest. The strategy is to develop projects, greenfield and through M&A, to inject biomethane into the gas grid or to produce bioLNG.

The Site Manager reports functionally to the Head of Construction and Commissioning of Renewable Gases Europe and operationally to the Execution Project Manager of the project to which is delegated.

Site mobilization, management, and demobilisation :

• Manage all construction and commissioning activities, from the preparation phase to the performance testing, until the handover of the Site to the Operation & Maintenance team.
• Get familiar with the project execution plan, schedule, scope of supply, contracts, budget, status of documentation, site conditions, applicable local regulations, restrictions, etc.
• Mobilise the Site and set-up Site infrastructure (security, access control, temporary offices, storage facilities…).
• Deploy on Site and at off-Site prefabrication facilities, the applicable portion of the RGE Quality Management System, making sure that all contractors have received the documentation and understand the requirements.
• Create, if necessary, some project-specific procedures or organizational notes.
• Organise the demobilisation of the Site and the transfer to the Operation and Maintenance team.

HSE:

• Responsible for the HSE performance of the Site and off-Site prefabrication facilities, in tight coordination with the HSE Advisor.
• Lead by example, internalising HSE as a value and displaying an honest, caring attitude.
• Implement RGE HSE policy, processes, and procedures, organizing the necessary training of contractors’ staff.
• Develop a safety culture during the site execution of the projects, both within the project team and contractors.
• Organise appreciation and didactic events to promote HSE, in collaboration with contractors.
• Ensure that HSE targets are achieved with zero lost time, injuries, or fatalities.

Site coordination and reporting:

• Create coordination maps and dedicated schedules to clarify interfaces between contractors.
• Review method statements, lifting plans, permit requests, and other construction and commissioning documentation to ensure that activities are being executed efficiently and in safe conditions.
• Organise material handling activities for RGE free-issue material, commissioning spares, tools, etc.
• Organise and lead daily coordination meetings with participation of all site stakeholder, to manage coactivity and ensure that project targets are achieved on time and in safe conditions.
• Perform monthly/weekly/daily/ad-hoc meetings as required, but carefully select the audience to avoid wasting time and resources.
• Promptly escalate to the Project Manager any risk or issue that can damage the performance of the project.
• Provide construction and commissioning KPI information and reports, in accordance with requirements.

Quality:

• Responsible for the quality performance of the Site and off-Site prefabrication facilities, in tight coordination with the Quality Engineer.
• Ensure that all construction and commissioning gates are well implemented, and that the approved Inspection and Test Plans are properly followed and completed in parallel of construction and commissioning activities.
• Ensure that quality control processes are in place and reworks are minimised.
• Perform verifications of free-issue material and erection works.
• Ensure that any non-conformance (NCR) is promptly reported and processed, and that measures are taken to avoid repetition of mistakes.
• Ensure that the contractors compile red-line documentation and quality records in parallel of physical activities.
• Organise mechanical completion walk-downs and administer the construction punch-list.
• Organise project-specific training sessions with the project team, suppliers and contractors.

Planning:

• Responsible for the schedule performance of the Site and off-Site prefabrication facilities, in tight coordination with the Project Planner.
• Contribute to the creation of the project schedules and the definition of milestones.
• Monitor critical and sub-critical paths closely, coordinating with the Project Manager and contractors, to ensure that all major construction and commissioning milestones are achieved on time and any delay is mitigated.
• Ensure day-to-day direction and prioritisation of all construction and commissioning activities.
• Report material delivery and design issues, pushing the implementation of actions to mitigate delays.
• Provide progress information and perform physical verifications as applicable.

Procurement, Contract Administration, and Budget :

• Coordinate Site purchasing needs with the Procurement Engineer and the Project Manager, issuing Purchase Orders in accordance with procurement procedures and the delegation of authority.
• Produce and properly store, Site reports, MOM, pictures, and other contemporary records that can support the management of contracts.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager any need to issue contractual correspondence, providing the necessary information to create it.
• Support the control of project costs, coordinating with the Project Manager any need to perform extra-works, and supporting verifications of contractor’s entitlement, schedule impact, and costing for variations and claims.
• Support the production of Estimation At Completion (EAC) forecasts.

Team and stakeholder management:

• Lead team members assigned to the Site (e.g. commissioning engineers).
• Identify resourcing levels and work with the Project Manager to resolve resource issues.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure that ENGIE’s and contractors’ staff dedicated to site activities have the necessary competence and training, promptly reporting any attitude or performance concern.
• Maintain an intensive relationship with site suppliers and contractors and a high level of collaboration.
• Engage and motivate construction and commissioning teams, internally and from contractors.
• Display a professional image that contributes to a positive perception of ENGIE by external stakeholders.

Project locations within Europe, with return to one of RGE units between missions.

Degree and experience:

• Technical qualification or degree.
• Experience leading construction activities of industrial projects (bioenergy, energy, chemicals, water/waste treatment) in an EPC or construction organisation, with at least three years based on Site.
• Good understanding of engineering, construction, and commissioning processes.
• Experience coordinating multicultural teams, with preferably at least one period living abroad.
• HSE and QA/QC training or experience.

Job profile

We are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to work on the design and construction of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear powerplant

As part of the Joint Design Office (JDO), your responsibilities will include managing and treating the site change requests respecting the design intent, project specifications and deadlines. You will support the Civil Team of the Nuclear Island in optimizing the design received from the Back office. You will be supported by an experienced team composed of Detailers, BIM Coordinators and Senior Engineers who will help you in your daily task.

You will report to the area pilot.

You will be involved in the activities undertaken by our site-based team, which will include:

• to civil works contractor’s queries related to the design packages released by the Back-Office;
• Request For Information (RFI) and provide clarification to the site;
• Field Change Requests (FCR) from the site and assess their feasibility;
• and coordinate with the drafting team managing the implementation of the design modifications in the 3D models and 2D drawings;
• Non-Conformance Report (NCR) from the civil works contractor and assess the proposed repair solution or propose additional measures;
• quick assessment on reinforcement concrete issues (hand calculations);
• and communicate with the back-office team as appropriate;
• and communicate with the Client team on site as appropriate;
• to site visits in order to analyse potential issues or requests.

Essential Experience

• in Civil or Structural Engineering with at least 3 years of proven experience in the field;
• towards or have chartership status with either the ICE or the IStructE;
• experience;
• in reinforced concrete calculation and design;
• in nuclear or complex industrial projects;
• familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and industry Standards (ETC-C, Eurocodes and British Standard);
• in reinforced concrete detailing;

Missions

Prestations de service en ingénierie Génie Civil – Calculs de structures béton armé, pour les projets nucléaires

Le profil recherché permettra de renforcer localement l’équipe de Tours pour les projets principaux (EPR2, CNEPE, Nuward, etc.). L’expérience du candidat permettra au terme de l’intégration d’encadrer une équipe d’ingénieurs d’études sur projet.

Pour se faire, le candidat recherché a de bonnes connaissances des projets nouveau nucléaire. Il doit avoir une maîtrise des méthodes de dimensionnement de structures en béton armé nucléaire (statique et dynamique), plus particulièrement une maîtrise des Eurocodes, RCC-CW et des logiciels éléments finis type ANSYS MAPDL ou Code_Aster ainsi que des routines de modélisation associées (Python, VBA, etc.).

Le candidat doit aussi présenter de bonnes facilités de communication et de rédaction de livrables techniques (notes d’hypothèses, de calculs et dimensionnement, de faisabilité, des chiffrages) comme organisationnel (compte rendu de réunion, de comité de pilotage, d’enclenchement, etc.).

Le candidat doit impérativement maîtriser l’anglais.

Formation de base : Ingénieur Pont, Centrale, ESTP, INSA ou équivalent

En appui d’un ingénieur électrique confirmé ou expert, vous êtes accompagné pour mener à bien les missions suivantes :

• Réalisation d’étude électrique pour les projets R&D
• Réalisation d’étude électrique pour les projets ingénierie
• Elaboration des documents techniques : Notes techniques, bilans de puissance, unifilaire HTA/BT, notes de calculs, spécifications de matériels,spécifications de travaux ou fourniture,réquisitions techniques, notes de CAPEX, tableaux de comparaison d’offres, DPGF
• Gestion des interfaces techniques avec les autres corps d'état
• Assistance au projet dans les échanges techniques avec le client
• Analyse des pièces techniques et déclinaison dans la réalisation des prestations

VOTRE PROFIL :

Actuellement en cursus d’ingénieur spécialisé en électricité, génie électrique, vous recherchez une entreprise pour une alternance sur vos 3 années de formation.

Vous savez vous adapter, vous aimez évoluer dans un environnement agile et en constante évolution. De nature curieuse, vous êtes dynamique, sérieux(se) et professionnel(le).
Vous maitrisez la suite Office ainsi que Matlab et avez déjà travaillé sur un logiciel de calcul type Canéco qui permettra de vous familiariser rapidement avec nos outils.

Vous avez de bonnes compétences techniques sur la conception électrique, les calculs de câbles et les règlementations associées (NF-C13-100, NF-C13-200, NF-C15-100).

Vous souhaitez intégrer une équipe à l’esprit très collaboratif. Si vous aimez les défis, cette alternance sur des projets à haute technicité est faite pour vous.

• Etudes génie civil  
  • Conception de bâtiments en béton armé :
    • Participation à la conception d’ouvrages de génie civil

• Etudes charpentes métalliques:
  • Réalisation des études de conception et exécution de charpentes métalliques
  • Calcul des platines d’ancrage de charpentes métalliques
  • Conception de charpentes métalliques :
    • Intégrer les contraintes de fabrication
    • Intégrer les aspects de montage
    • Coordination avec les autres métiers
  • Pilotage de projeteurs pour réalisation de plans guides et exécution

Profil

Formation de base : Ingénieur GC

Nombre d’années d’expérience minimum : Entre 5 et 10 ans

Compétences principales :

• Maitrise des Eurocodes, RCC-CW, ETC-C
• Maitrise du dimensionnement d’ouvrages en béton armé
• Connaissance des calculs aux éléments finis
• Connaissance des études d’exécution
• Connaissance des projets et enjeux nucléaires (respect des exigences, sûreté, qualité)
• Aisance dans la communication en français et en anglais

You will join a recently created TRACTEBEL entity with very ambitious goals and exceptional projects. Created to support projects localised in the UK, the entity’s mission is to promote TRACTEBEL as a key player of the nuclear business in the UK.

Tractebel is part of a consortium in charge of the design and detailing of the reinforced concrete structures of the Nuclear Island of Hinkley Point C (HPC) Nuclear Power Plant, currently one of the world’s largest construction projects. HPC is set to be the benchmark for future construction of similar projects in the UK such as Sizewell C (SZC).

You will be part of a dynamic, highly motivated and multicultural team. This position is a great opportunity for you to develop your professional and personal skills and work on globally recognised projects.

Your role

As ‘Junior Fire Safety Engineer’, you will be in charge of the following activities, in close relation with the Project Managers, the Fire Experts, the Client (external & internal): 

• participate to feasibility studies, design studies, modification studies of fire, explosion and internal flooding protection installations, following applicable regulations and standards or in house methodologies; 

• participation to audits and diagnostic of fire, explosion and internal flooding protection installations; 

• with the support of a Senior Fire Safety Engineer, perform internal fire, explosion and flooding calculation and simulation studies: 

• perform risk analysis following applicable methods and determine suitable and pragmatic recommendations that cope with the project and client’s objectives/constraints; 

• perform risk analysis defining scenario and identifying assumptions, choice of the correct model, collection and implementation of the data into the model, calculations, analysis of the results, drafting the synthesis; 

• validate the coherence between the required and existing protection/detection means. 

• include requirements from other competence centres, project safety referential, plant safety report, insurer, codes, norms, standards and regulations; 

• check study compliance with on-site situation (walk-downs), include the Return of Experience (REX) and draft the reports; 

• determine and recommend suitable on site adaptations (protection/detection means); 

• present and share analyses with the client; 

• ensure budget, planning and studies scope are compliant with project and client requirements; 

• participate to equipment and services procurement with the support of a buyer and a Senior Fire Engineer: 

• writing technical specifications; 

• preparation of the call For tenders: Technical Requisition File (TRF), Design Review with the Client, Draft Purchase Order, sourcing strategy; 

• launch the call for tenders and review of the supplier’s bids; 

• perform the technical clarifications/bid alignment, and support the procurement stakeholders during the commercial negotiations with the suppliers; 

• award Purchase Orders (PO); 

• contract Management: follow-up of the contractor’s activities including associated reporting: review studies, manufacturing in close cooperation with the quality monitoring stakeholders and with the client, installation on-site and start-up, follow-up of the payment schedule and prospective variation orders; 

• perform contract closure activities: provisional acceptance, punch list, contractor’s evaluation, after action review and REX. 

You will collaborate actively with your colleagues from Project Management and Competence Centre departments, and build a close relationship while working for the same goal, actively developing cross department projects for your Clients.

Your profile

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: 

• you have the drive to become a technical expert in this field; 

• you recently graduated from university holding a relevant master level engineering degree (Mechanical engineer, Fire safety Engineer, Nuclear Engineer is an asset); 

• you are familiar with fire safety and/or fluid mechanics modelling; 

• you are proficient with calculation & simulation software (Magic, Sylvia, FDS/Pyrosim, Flashcat, or equivalent); 

• you master the English language (any knowledge of French, though not required, would be a plus); 

• you hold or are eligible to hold BPSS level clearance; 

• you possess good computer and data processing skills; 

• you are able to draft reports, technical papers, and synthesis documents; 

• you have the ability to work autonomously, but are not afraid to ask questions; 

• you have an inquisitive and critical mind;
