Job Purpose/Mission
Engie Energy Access Rwanda is seeking talented, motivated Stock Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. This position is a key role within the Finance Department in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with one or more departmental heads/ directors to identify bottlenecks to scale our business and areas for company improvement.
It requires an individual who will drive key strategic initiatives focused on improving efficiency and quality across multiple company verticals, with support from global teams. Using data driven and accounting insights to forecast and account for inventory movements across the entire supply chain
Responsibilities
● Ensuring that product purchases are correctly recorded in the general ledger and on time.
● Reviewing and reconciling stock in transit accounts and ensuring that these are cleared as and when transactions are completed.
● Reviewing and reconciling all landed costs accrued against actual payments and ensuring these are cleared as and when transactions are completed.
● Participate in monthly and ad-hoc stock counts.
● Prepare and send out monthly stock count sheets and coordinate the stock count.
● To ensure stock adjustments for any stock variances are raised and fully approved before any adjustments.
● Prepare daily and monthly stock movement schedules.
● Oversee the timely sale or disposal of damaged stock items in line with the Stock Governance process.
● Ensure that stock sub ledger accounts reconcile by location and to physical counts and between sub-ledger and the General ledger. Investigate integrity reports (IR/ID daily movement reports) and ensure that differences are cleared.
● Preparing the month end stock valuations and supporting the Finance Manager in validating the Cost of sales.
● Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
● Provide inventory support and guidance to other internal stakeholders as needed
● Provide weekly and monthly analysis of margin and inventory reports for each product category of the company
● Oversee update of Bill of Materials (BOM) and production in SAP.
● Provide monthly slow movers report
● Preparing monthly repossessions and voluntary returns report and ensure correct accounting and valuation.
● Monitor stock orders by ensuring that stock orders submitted to China have been fulfilled by the China team. Compare purchase orders with receipts and perform aging of the orders to identify which orders are delayed and why.
● Ensure that any inventory movements such as repossessions, swaps, scrapping, etc. are immediately booked in SAP
● Book sales in SAP and perform monthly AR reconciliation
● Acting as the stocks focal point.
● Perform any other duties as directed by Accounts team lead.
Required Skills and Experience/ Qualifications:
● +2 years professional experience in finance and inventory accounting
● Degree in Accounting and Finance and an advanced qualification (i.e., ACCA, CPA)
● Computer, Excel skills, and accounting systems (preferably SAP)
● Excellent understanding of accounting and finance concepts and tools.
● Organized and able to follow through and prioritize tasks
● Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
● Strong attention to detail
● Ability to synthesize complex information from different sources and to distinguish important information from details
● Strong ability to work with large amounts of data to develop strategies and make rigorous decisions
● Experience as a collaborative, hands on team player and eagerness to learn new tools and / or roll-up sleeves to get the job done.
● Willingness to spend time in rural areas, getting to know the EEA customer
● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (English).
Highly Desired Skills:
● Experience working in the field of renewable energy or financial services
● Experience working with last mile customers
● Experience with Tableau, SQL, or other data analytics tools
● Strong level of curiosity, proactive thinking and problem-solving mindset
