What You Can Expect

The Acquisitions, Investments and Financial Advisory (“AIFA”) team is a fast-paced group that is closely involved in major transactions and strategic initiatives undertaken by ENGIE AIFA competencies in financial structuring and transaction execution are essential to secure the most competitive funding at projects level.  

 

As a leader within the AIFA North America team, the AIFA Director is responsible for the valuation and risk analysis of new projects (including oversight of financial models), the structuring and execution of Merger and Aacquisition (M&A) and project financing transactions, and leading and managing a few talented financial professionals. This position will work hybrid from our Houston, TX office.

 

  • Lead the financial structuring on new business development projects and recommend best financing strategy, based on extensive experience and in depth AIFA knowledge and of the current tax equity and tax credits transfer financings, banking market, capital markets, Export Credit Agencies and other sources of funds
  • Structure, negotiate and execute tax equity and tax credits transfer financings, project financing and equity sell-down transactions, in accordance with best practices of AIFA
  • Actively build and manage the interactions with multiple external parties on a transaction such as lenders, financial partners, financial advisors, tax and accounting advisors, technical consultants, lawyers and internal stakeholders to bring transactions to conclusion in challenging environments
  • Assist the project development team and assist in the negotiation of non-financing related major project agreements, ensuring the bankability of the project as a whole, on a non or limited recourse basis.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree required with, on top,  Finance, Economics, or Engineering major, professional qualification such as CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) or MBA
  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience conducting energy industry M&A and project finance transactions at an investment bank, private equity fund or strategic energy company
  • Understanding of all aspects of project finance and M&A processes, such as experience in negotiating transactions, documentation, and exposure to structuring and closing transactions
  • Experience with valuation and analysis of complex investment structures specifically related to centralized or distributed renewables generation and storage projects 
  • Understanding of US electricity markets, underlying fundamental drivers and merchant risks faced by renewables and storage projects 
  • Understanding of accounting topics and tax structures 
  • Usage of analytical skills, including proficient financial modelling
  • Ability to think strategically and to synthetize complex information
  • Leadership experience including people management, coaching, supporting and motivating team members 

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 5% of the time
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $166,900 – $232,890 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
