Your mission
Within the Metier Nuclear Safety & Engineering, the groups Safety & Licensing Studies and Safety Implementation & SAR are responsible for the following activities:
Nuclear Safety-related requirement management for the projects;
- Harmonized safety analyses for multidisciplinary nuclear projects;
- Support to customers for drafting nuclear licensing and permitting documents;
- Specific technical expertise, e.g.:
-Calculation of radiological consequences;
-Statistical Setpoint Studies;
-Internal and external hazards studies including definition of the load case;
-Determination of PIE’s (Postulated Initiating Events – internal or external), importance and prioritisation of PIE’s, choice of DBA’s (Design Basis Accidents);
-Definition of the classification of systems, structures, components and;
-Assistance to the client for writing, optimization and compliance of Technical Specifications;
-Assistance to the client with respect to Integrated Management Systems (IMS);
- Operational support and training in the various disciplines practiced;
- Safety Culture : contribute to the understanding and implementation inside TE of nuclear safety principles;
Your key responsibilities
As a Nuclear Safety & Licensing Engineer - Confirmed, you will work in several of the following domains:
- Safety Officer function within projects: assure the proper consideration of nuclear licensing and safety aspects in studies/projects; establish and manage safety requirements, analyze and ensure compliance with safety requirements, organize safety reviews, contacts with Safety Authorities;
- Assistance to the client’s nuclear licensing process, including the establishment of associated documents such as PSAR and FSAR (preliminary and final safety assessment report);
- Safety analysis and assessment, e.g.: classification & qualification requirements with respect to safety functions and items important to safety, radiological consequences studies, internal and external hazards studies including definition of the load case, determination of PIE’s (postulated initiating events) and DBA’s (design basis accidents), statistical setpoint studies;
- Coordinating and coaching younger colleagues.
We would love to hear from people with
- You have a master degree in Engineering;
- You are a “generalist”, having knowledge of all technical disciplines within the nuclear domain, enabling you to discuss on safety aspects related to these disciplines;
- You have minimum 5 years of experience with the general nuclear safety approach and general nuclear licensing preferably within the French or Belgian licensing process;
- You speak and write French or Dutch on a professional level, and possess a good command of English;
