Context:

 

The power sector is undergoing fundamental change. GEMS Iberia created end of 2023 a new team, RES Operations (RES OPS), focused on renewable energy to support the growing activity. The RES OPS team is in direct contact with business (Business Developers, Structurers, Traders, Support functions) to support their needs in the management of data and process automation.

RES OPS team is responsible for:

  • Ensuring the operational excellence in a real-time environment
  • Providing the relevant tools to actively manage portfolio contracts
  • Maintain central database data quality at highest level for renewable assets management
  • Facilitating the production of reports and analysis on data

 

Role:

In this context you will as renewable portfolio data analyst perform key role in the development of new systems by fulfill the following missions:

  • Develop a good knowledge of the business and processes running the activity to enable you to propose best solution to support new business challenges
  • Build new data flows required for the business
  • Improve existing process to ensure the scalability of the activity
  • Interact with service providers to maintain existing data flows
  • Apply data management best practices to be the guardian of data quality and script your own data quality tools
  • Work in close relationship with the IT team to improve the current system used by GEMS Iberia to manage data

 

Hard skills:

  • Familiar with Finance and/or Energy fields
  • Experience in coding and scripting with Python
  • Data management skills
  • Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
  • Experience with Dataiku or AWS is a plus

 

Soft skills:

  • A strong focus on business outcomes
  • Experienced in working closely with IT
  • Driven by excellence, you want to perform at high standards

 

Education and professional background:

  • The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in engineering, business engineering, mathematics, or physic

 

Languages:

  • Fluent English is required Spanish is a plus

We are currently looking for an Insurance Expert for our headquarters in Madrid.

 

Mission

Responsible for the oversight of ENGIE Spain’s comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the safety, security, or financial success of the organization; liaising with Group Insurance global teams.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to navigate complex insurance landscapes while ensuring compliance and organizational safety.

 

Functions

  • Support the implementation of Group insurance programmes ensuring adequacy to local Insurance needs ;
  • Establish relationships with insurers to facilitate optimum insurance placements ensuring favorable coverage terms and conditions for ENGIE. Manage the placement and renewals of all local insurance ;
  • Manage insurance broker relationships and points of contact for various coverages
  • Whether for local policies or for Group programmes, coordinate the compilation of underwriting information for marketing materials and submissions forms, and ensure the quality of the reported data (accurate, updated, exhaustive, synthetic);
  • Manage claims process including coordination of loss adjuster for all lines of coverage, including complex liability, property and marine claims, to ensure in a timely manner most favorable outcome for ENGIE and its stakeholders ;
  • Lead insurance aspect of Business Development activities, including evaluating risk exposures, ensure fair risk allocation in contracts with client or supplier, negotiating insurance provisions and developing proposed insurance coverage structure, and provide budget for construction, operation and placement of insurance ;
  • Contribute to Enterprise Risk Management campaign ;
  • Promote the global Loss Prevention Program in the country, collaborate with the business and support functions to ensure adequate follow up of the prevention recommendations while raising awareness and sensibility in good risk management approaches in the Country ;
  • Participate in insurance due diligence for potential acquisitions, and Integrate acquired insurance programs into ENGIE’s existing programs.
  • Prepare and submit reports for Group Insurance and Global Business Line leadership ;
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of all insurance finance records, including allocation, tracking invoices, cash flow, fee and premium spend annually
  • Prepare annual budgets for the Insurance Risk Management department as well as budgets for GBUs reflecting insurance costs for all lines of coverage ;
  • Prepare and distribute of insurance and risk manuals

 

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as law, or a related discipline is necessary. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role, dealing with Property, Liability, and Construction policies
  • Proven experience with insurance management, including policy placement, renewals, and claims handling. Familiarity with risk assessment, control methodologies, and underwriting processes.
  • An analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude. Strong understanding of insurance data quality (accuracy, updates, comprehensiveness).
  • Effective communication skills to convey risk management strategies throughout the organization.
  • Fluent level of English to enable negotiation.
