The opportunity:

The global CSR Department is supported by a network of Country Sustainability Officers (CSOs) across the international markets. This newly created position reports to the CSO for ANZ.

 

The Environmental Sustainability Manager  will be responsible for implementing the country’s Environment Sustainability Governance (ESG) strategy in line with the ENGIE Group Policy including wider objectives, with a principle focus on the environmental, climate and circular economy aspects of the strategy.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • De-risk projects from an ESG perspective, enable compliance, maximum positive impact, and to bring value to the projects and company through best practice ESG performance
  • Work with the Head of Sustainability and Social Performance to ensure that the company’s ESG policies and strategies are appropriately implemented, including the development of climate adaptation and decarbonisation plans.
  • Proactively identify and manage company and project ESG risks through consistent and continuous data collation, monitoring and review, thereby working to protect ENGIE from material environmental and social risks
  • Work with various business functions to co-ordinate ESG input and ensure ESG matters are integrated into project acquisition, due diligence, budgeting and bidding
  • Ensure ENGIE ANZ sites and projects adhere to sustainability standards, industrial practices and ENGIE’s commitments

 

 About you:

  • Possess knowledge of key principles of ESG as well as implementation experience in both corporate and operational contexts, particularly within an engineering environment
  • Demonstrated experience setting a strategy with clear and tangible outputs
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Forward thinking and strategic mindset
  • Passionate about ESG and a career with a purpose and values led global leader
