About the role

The position is key to support ENGIE’s businesses within the UK and Ireland, in the context of existing key businesses and strong growth ambitions. ENGIE is involved in the development and operation of renewable assets (onshore wind, solar PV, biomethane plants), flexibility assets (pumped-hydro storage, gas storage, batteries), is a significant gas and electricity supplier for B2B customers and operates trading activities on wholesale markets, including 24/7 on intraday markets.

 

The purpose of the Head of Regulatory, Public Affairs and ESG/CSR role is to lead the strategic management of regulatory compliance, government relations, and public affairs as well as oversee and coordinate ESG/CSR related activities within ENGIE UK. This position aims to (1) understand key business stakes, then establish and represent the company’s position, as well as (2) monitor and explain relevant regulatory matters within the company (businesses in the UK and corporate).

 

To succeed, the Head of RAPA & ESG/CSR will effect collaboration with relevant authorities in the UK to review and help frame policy decisions, navigate regulatory frameworks, and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders,. The person in the role will also liaise and coordinate with a network of experts within the Group, in particular the Public Affairs Department, which reports to the Group General Secretary. He or she will be involved in existing networks for exchanges between the heads of public and regulatory affairs in the Group's various geographies. The role will comply with all applicable laws and ENGIE’s Ethical rules and policies

Key Responsibilities

Government and Regulatory Body Engagement

  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with government agencies, policymakers, and regulatory bodies at various levels to investigate, understand and help frame policy formulation, and encourage regulatory environments that accelerate the energy transition towards a carbon neutral economy.

Policy Analysis and Insights

  • Monitor, analyse, and interpret legislative changes, regulatory trends, and policy developments affecting ENGIE’s businesses
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on in-depth policy analysis, anticipating potential impacts on business operations. Prepare position papers on key topics

Public Relations and Advocacy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive public affairs strategy to enhance ENGIE UK’s reputation and visibility in the energy transition space.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to effectively communicate the company's vision, initiatives, and contributions to sustainable energy solutions.

Risk Management and Compliance Oversight

  • Assess regulatory risks and develop proactive measures to mitigate potential impacts on business operations and project timelines. · Ensure company-wide understanding and compliance with regulatory requirements, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams.

Cross-functional Collaboration and Leadership

  • Foster collaboration across departments including legal, finance, operations, and marketing and GBUs to align regulatory strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to drive high performance.

ESG/CSR

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership in analysing regulatory strategies in context of ENGIE's ESG objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and disseminate action plans across all business units at ENGIE UK.

 

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, government relations, or a related field within the energy sector or a closely aligned industry, including work at a strategic level.
  • Bachelor's degree in law, Public Policy, Political Science, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or a related field. A master degree is highly desirable.
  • Certifications or additional training in energy law, policy analysis, regulatory compliance, or public affairs are highly desirable.
  • An in-depth knowledge of the energy markets, climate change & environmental issues and related regulations is essential for this role.
  • A detailed understanding of the functioning of Institutions mainly in the UK but in Ireland as well
  • A detailed understanding of the market structure and the business activities of market players. A wider appreciation of the UK/EU political landscape
  • Demonstrable track record in working collaboratively with Governments in key policy areas.
  • An exceptionally impactful individual, able to translate complex ideas into simple concepts

Functie

 

Als Project Manager Nuclear beheer en monitor je het ontwerp en/of de uitvoering van onze nucleaire  ontmantelingsprojecten.  Je stelt de ontwerp- en investeringsbudgetten op en consolideert deze voor het project als geheel. Je bepaalt de globale tijdsplanning, je controleert de geleverde diensten voor het project en je bewaakt de voortgang op het vlak van het halen van de oplevertermijnen alsook de verwachte rentabiliteit.

 

  • Je verzorgt de interne contacten met onze Métiers (dit zijn de Technische Competence Centres) en de ondersteunende afdelingen (juridisch, financiën, IT, risicobeheer, communicatie, …);
  • Na overleg met de experten van Tractebel definieer je de taken en machtig je je projectteam (dat je functioneel aanstuurt) om deze uit te voeren;
  • Je coördineert de acties voor raakvlakken tussen disciplines en je waakt over de adequate integratie van de verschillende specialisaties in het project;
  • Je monitort het project ten einde de afgesproken scope op te leveren binnen contractuele deadline en budget;
  • Je organiseert meetings met de klant en ondersteunt de klant, als partner, bij het leveren van de Tractebel meerwaarde aan het project;
  • Je verzorgt de technische en commerciële contacten met de klanten en partners en stippelt commerciële acties uit waar nodig.

 

Als ambassadeur van Tractebel (ENGIE) draag je het imago en de waarden van Tractebel en de ENGIE-groep (Ethiek, QHSE,…) uit in al uw contacten, zowel binnen de ENGIE-groep als met andere externe stakeholders.

 

Werkomgeving

 

Binnen de Tractebel Business Area Global Nuclear, kom je terecht in het departement dat verantwoordelijk is voor de Tractebel projecten die we uitvoeren in opdracht van Electrabel. Dit departement is verantwoordelijk voor alle projecten die verband houden met de ontmantelingsprojecten. Deze projecten kunnen betrekking hebben op pre-haalbaarheidsstudies tot en met de uiteindelijke ingebruikname van de installaties, inclusief haalbaarheids-, ontwerp-, inkoop- en realisatieactiviteiten op locatie.

 

Binnen dit departement ben je verantwoordelijk voor de projecten aan jou toegewezen (studies en/of realisaties), telkens met betrekking tot de kerncentrales in België. Je rapporteert hierbij aan de Group Manager Projecten.

Uw profiel

Minimale vereisten:

  • een Master diploma in Engineering;
  • Talenkennis: Nederlands (en bij voorkeur basiskennis Frans) en Engels;
  • Kennis in projectmanagement met betrekking tot opvolging budget, planning en risico’s;
  • Je hebt 5 jaar professionele ervaring als projectleider of assistent projectleider, en je hebt kennis van de processen van Engineering (opeenvolgende fasen, contractuele benaderingen, …)
  • Kennis van Belgische kerncentrales / nucleaire sector is een sterke troef;
  • BA4, VCA en Habilitatie om toegang te krijgen tot nucleaire sites is vereist.

Requisitos mínimos

As the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Senior Advisor you will support the Utility Scale Flexible Generation Development business in the US and Canada by managing the M&A process for the operating area in addition to supporting the global business planning process.  Additionally, you will be primarily focused on standalone energy storage project and platform acquisition.

 

Every day in this role you will is to lead M&A transactions and coordinate activities internally and externally. You will also support the valuation process by collecting and validating pro forma modeling inputs and working collaboratively with the project finance team.

 

  • Lead counterparty negotiations and keep external and internal conversations aligned and moving forward
  • Lead the development of material to support internal governance process
  • Support the M&A team on transactions, process development, process management and market entry plans
  • Maintain transaction data and support group reporting
  • Sit first chair (and occasionally second chair) on transactions and run workstreams within transactions
  • Develop and maintain, with other groups, commercial and competitive intelligence

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a degree in finance, economics, mathematics, science, engineering or similar technical or analytics based program
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of energy industry experience in increasing levels of responsibility at a developer, utility, bank, investor or similar market participant
  • Outstanding analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed, Excel-based, financial models
  • Energy market experience and expertise
  • Commercial acumen in addition to deep analytic and/or technical capabilities
  • Ability to design processes and execute programs within a cross functional environment.
  • Proven flexible team player who works well with others
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Requisitos
• Profesional Técnico o Ingeniero titulado con experiencia comprobada en diseño de proyectos de líneas de transmisión de Alta Tensión.
• Imprescindible (demostrable) el uso y utilización de los programas de cálculo y diseño de líneas eléctricas aéreas PLS-CADD. Experiencia en el uso de los otros softwares derivados PLS POLE y PLS TOWER (no excluyente).
• Experiencia en la definición técnica de los trazados de líneas de alta tensión y conocimientos básicos de conceptos de topografía asociado a proyectos de líneas de transmisión aéreas.
• Conocimiento de la normativa Chilena de diseño de líneas aéreas (RPTD, NTSyCS), en particular, en lo referente a las distancias eléctricas de seguridad, aislación, franja de seguridad, etc.
• Conocimiento de normativas internacionales generales de diseño de líneas aéreas (IEEE, IEC, etc.)
• Conocimiento y experiencia para recurrir a las fuentes de información geográfica disponibles en la WEB para extraer ortofotos, curvas de nivel, modelos de terreno, etc.

SUMMARY:

The Energy Procurement Analyst is a key role in providing comprehensive conventional/renewable energy procurement and analytic services by supplying product recommendations, energy market and utility tariff analysis, pricing evaluation, and contract management to ENGIE Impact client delivery teams and clients. They are experts in assigned deregulated and renewable energy markets. This role provides these services throughout North America markets, as well as globally on an as needed basis.

 

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide conventional/renewable energy procurement consulting and analytic services to ENGIE Impact client delivery teams including, but not limited to: RFP development, market assessment, risk management, consultative procurement recommendations, strategy development, contract negotiation, contract management, and product management.
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with ENGIE Impact stakeholders and clients.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of assigned regulatory markets.
  • Communicate with suppliers, utilities, local distribution companies, and public utility commissions to gather timely, accurate, and complete energy market intelligence in advancement of client strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with supplier partners through frequent communication.
  • Develop conventional/renewable energy procurement services deliverables, tools, and processes. Evaluate and support new opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive toolsets for risk management, conventional/renewable energy product comparison, and market assessment for ENGIE Impact teams.
  • Routinely prepare and deliver conventional/renewable energy market and product updates.
  • Develop and present training to Energy Supply Management (ESM) staff on conventional/renewable energy markets and products.
  • Assist in training new employees.

Education/Certification/Knowledge: 

  • Four-year college degree, or equivalent.
  • Engineering degree a plus.

Experience:

  • Three years of relevant experience, particularly in the areas of energy procurement, energy contracting, renewable energy products, utility tariffs, finance, risk management, or quanitative analyst. 
  • Utility experience or knowledge of utility bill calculations preferred. 

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to work both collaboratively within teams and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skill level required.
  • Ability to create macros and programming within Excel and Power BI capabilities highly desired.
  • Quality presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting utility, tariff, and wholesale market data.
  • Must be detail oriented, flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to handle deadlines and high stress situations on a periodic basis.
  • Occasional travel to client locations may be required.

As our part time Law Clerk for ENGIE North America, you will assist with large scale Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts schedules and exhibits. Everyday, you will report to the Attorney II to assist with lease and contract reviews around solar leases and wind easements for large grid scale wind and solar farm projects in order to compile schedules of specific information to be used in financing documents, EPC contracts and other agreements. This person will also create schedules and abstracts of multiple documents, distilling information,  compiling information for exhibits and creating instructions for various groups regarding land use along with various legal projects from corporate affairs.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A 2nd or 3rd year law student from an accredited college or university with interest in real estate or contracts with a focus on renewable energy
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word programs

  • This role is part time 10-15 hours a week. Most work can be done remotely, but requires the person to occasionally come in for in person meetings a few hours a week

As the SCADA Engineering Manager in Houston, Texas for ENGIE North America (ENA), you will lead a team of SCADA Engineers in development and support of SCADA projects for renewable generation (Wind and Solar) in North America (US and Canada).   • A minimum of an Associates degree in automation and Controls Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, Computer Programming Engineering or equivalent

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of industrial automation working experience in the Power Sector
