What You Can Expect

As the Wind and Solar Area Manager, for this the West Texas region you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of four (4) Wind generation and Solar project sites. Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising six (6) direct reports.  In your capacity as the head of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, budgets, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. You will also be responsible for managing and reporting on Profit and Loss responsibility for regional performance.

 

You manage all areas of responsibility in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, environmental requirements, company policies and procedures, the company’s annual operations plan, legal and contractual requirements, and good wind and solar industry practices. Additionally, you take all necessary actions to protect the facility’s operating permits, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

 

Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Reliability Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-sites.

 

  • You will need to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the solar sites
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Technical diploma/high school diploma and seven (7) years’ experience in a related industry where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills

  • Minimum of three (3) years previous experience in supervision of technical, operating or maintenance personnel
  • In-depth knowledge of wind, solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) power generating equipment and technologies
  • Working knowledge of solar power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
  • You should be able to effectively lead and manage multiple teams, as well as communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring regular travel to client site(s)
  • This role requires daily attendance at a worksite
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically 50% to visit sites, company meetings, events and training.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record with the ability to drive a company vehicle to sites, customers, and company activities
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing

  • The position consists of 50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

Compensation

Salary Range: $1121,980 – $196,765 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

As an active participant in the behavior-based safety program, ensure that all team members and contractors comply with safety procedures and task-oriented job safety analyses. Communicate and enforce site safety rules through Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and meetings. Demonstrate procedural compliance in site operation and maintenance by following established procedures. Facilitate daily work, including report production. Inspect, operate, and repair site equipment both directly and remotely. Coordinate High Voltage (HV) switching and curtailments with local utilities and the Independent System Operator (ISO). What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/ DC electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors or Equivalent Military or Trade school
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Battery Energy Storage Systems, (BESS), Wind generation sites, Utility scale power plants, Sub-station POI, or Controls & Instrumentation Maintenance. Renewables Solar and BESS construction experience or commissioning power plants a plus
  • HV Experience. Trades qualifications and certifications acceptable: (HV Lineman, Electrician, Substation Technician, or Controls Technician)
  • Obtain AVO certification or equivalent as substation technician within 12 months of hire date

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages up to 70% of the time

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Battery Energy Storage Systems, (BESS), Wind generation sites, Utility scale power plants, Sub-station POI, or Controls & Instrumentation Maintenance. Renewables Solar and BESS construction experience or commissioning power plants a plus
  • HV Experience. Trades qualifications and certifications acceptable: (HV Lineman, Electrician, Substation Technician, or Controls Technician)
  • Obtain AVO certification or equivalent as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Be proficient in using and maintaining SCADA systems

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages up to 70% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Ability to travel nationally at short notice and work for periods of time remote from your home to support our operational assets

Compensation

Salary Range:  $32.69 - $48.76 USD hourly

Ce vei face:

 

  • Vei monta/demonta aparatele de măsurare a cantităților de gaze conform proceselor și procedurilor asociate activității;
  • Vei efectua verificări, revizii tehnice la instalații de utilizare a gazelor naturale, la clienții casnici, noncasnici sau asociații proprietari, conform planificării și/sau la solicitarea clienților, în conformitate cu prevederile NTPEE_2008, în baza Ordinului de serviciu;
  • Vei consulta proiectul tehnic al instalației de utilizare a gazelor naturale în vederea stabilirii conformării instalației de utilizare a gazelor naturale existența cu acesta;
  • Vei demonta/debranșa  aparatele de consum fără aprobare legală și conductele de alimentare aferente;
  • Vei înlocui racorduri la aparatele de consum, montare/înlocuire detectoare CH4 și/sau CO, tratare curățire instalații termice și aparate AC, reparații la instalațiile de utilizare a gazelor naturale, lucrări de înlocuiri centrale termice, cu respectarea normelor tehnice, a proceselor, procedurilor și instrucțiunilor interne.;
  • Vei întrerupe alimentarea cu gaz a receptorilor/instalațiilor a căror funcționare nu prezintă siguranță în exploatare
  • Vei prezenta clientului spre semnare contractele de prestări servicii cu privire la instalațiile de utilizare gaze naturale și comenzile aferente contractului pentru alte servicii.
  • Vei propune servicii de proiectare, avizare, execuție lucrări și recepție la instalațiile de utilizare a gazelor naturale, servicii de eficientă energetică de instalare Termostat, Cronotermostat, Smart Term și alte servicii pe măsură dezvoltării și implementării în societate.

 

Experiență, calificări, cunoștințe și abilități:

 

  • Școală generală/ Școală profesională;
  • Diplomă de absolvire a cursului de instalator gaze sau asimilate;
  • Instalator autorizat ANRE in domeniul gazelor naturale;
  • Experiență de minimum 2 ani în domeniul gazelor naturale;
  • Permisul de conducere categoria B reprezintă avantaj
  • Exigență și rigoare profesională;
  • Capacitatea de lucru sub presiunea timpului și disponibilitatea la sarcini neplanificate;
  • Atitudine proactivă în soluționarea problemelor și realizarea obiectivelor;

What You Can Expect

ENGIE North America is hiring a Solar Technician for our Solar Site located in West Union, IL.  

 

Your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs.

 

  • Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), which includes tasks like substation operations, equipment lockouts and grounding
  • Adhere to safety protocols such as conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
  • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/ DC electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Thermal power plants
  • Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor
