Following a rupture of the cruciate knee ligament in March 2022, Luka was forced to take a break from the mat. After having an operation, he needed nearly 10 months of physiotherapy.
The new year has started well for Luka! He returned to competition at the end of January for the Portuguese Grand Prix and took home the bronze medal in the -60 kg category. A very encouraging performance, auguring well for the rest of the season.
Luka followed this up brilliantly 3 weeks later at the Tel Aviv Grand Slam, taking the gold medal and thus proving that he is definitely back and the French No. 1 in -60 kg.
Luka will be the French representative in his category for the next World Championships in Doha this May. Congratulations to Luka on this convincing comeback.

Madeleine Malonga was due to take part in the Paris Grand Slam on Sunday 5 February. Unfortunately, she had not fully recovered from her cracked rib, and our judoka had to postpone her return to competition for a few weeks.
To make up for this, members of Junior-Entrepreneurs and employees in the Young Professional Network community had the opportunity to meet and chat with Madeleine Malonga, who has been supported within Team ENGIE since 2018 via the French Sports Foundation’s Performance Pact. Thank you, Mado, for this valuable and inspiring discussion with our guests.
Madeleine’s return to the sport after her injury came on 19 February, at the new Grand Slam tournament in Tel Aviv.
She had an excellent run until the final where she was defeated by the Italian Alice Bellandi.
“I am 90% happy and 10% disappointed. Happy because I’ve got the feeling back. I put everything on one side and managed to be myself 100%. Regardless of the outcome, I’ve got back my determination, and the pleasure of throwing [her opponents].” Madeleine Malonga, Team ENGIE athlete.

She’s on the way to the World Cup in Egypt in early March!
Team ENGIE surfer Pauline Ado took second place on Saturday 26 February in the RipCurl Pro Search Taghazout!
“It’s always frustrating to get so close to winning. But overall, a very positive week for this stage in Morocco. I’m happy to see my winter training paying off.” Pauline Ado, Team ENGIE athlete
