Description

 

  • You are part of a multidisciplinary project team of engineers and draftmen for projects with a strong focus on projects in infrastructure (bridges, civil constructions, etc.) and / or buildings.
  • You are responsible for the design and calculation of structures (concrete, steel, wood, etc.) from concept to implementation study.
  • You are creative in looking for structural solutions to specific problems, taking into account design and budget.
  • On a technical level, you will be assisted in your assignments by colleagues from the Structural Engineering teams and in the context of geotechnical aspects, the team Geo Engineering will be called upon. Working together with colleagues is a top priority at Tractebel.
  • At the start of an assignment, you make agreements with the Lead Engineer about the documents to be supplied, as well as about the timing. It is your responsibility to carry out the work in accordance with the agreed hours. In the event of unforeseen matters, you report this immediately to the Lead Engineer. Projects are carried out in accordance with our internal quality system and our health and safety rules;
  • You communicate the progress of your work in the projects with the Lead Engineer and your manager on a regular basis. This is where your communication skills come into play;
  • You help with the preparation of quotations and contracts;
  • Knowledge and interest in BIM and parametric design is a plus;
  • You strive for sustainable and efficient solutions;
  • You keep track of the standards, guidelines and developments in your field.

 

Profile 

 

  • You have a Master's degree in Engineering (M.Sc.Eng.) - construction engineering or equivalent;
  • You have minimum 3 years of relevant technical experience with regard to design and engineering in infrastructure or building projects;
  • You have ready knowledge regarding stability concepts in infrastructure or building projects;
  • You have a good understanding of the applicable construction techniques;
  • You have good communication skills and are a team player;
  • You are customer-oriented and flexible;
  • You speak Dutch and/or French fluently and you have a very good knowledge of English;
  • You are willing to occasionally make international trips in the context of our projects.

Your function

 

  • As Lead Stability Engineer you actively stimulate and develop the use of BIM and parametric design in the organization.
  • In your projects you lead, motivate, coach and manage a project team of monodisciplinary structural engineers, geotechnical engineers and draftsmen  and you work closely together with the other teams involved in the project.

  • You prepare and submit offers and contracts and you present them to the customer in consultation with the commercial team
  • You work together with external partners (such as architects, other design and engineering consultancies, subcontractors, contractors during the construction phase, etc.) in a constructive way.
  •  You strive for sustainable and efficient solutions
  • You keep track of the standards, guidelines and developments in your field and report these to your team members or colleagues

Your profile

 

  • You are a qualified Master Degree of Civil Engineering or equivalent;
  • You have at least 10 years of experience with structural engineering projects related to complex infrastructures (bridges, tunnels, railways, airports...)
  • You were ideally involved in all aspects and phases of your projects: competition, design, studies, tender, execution, management,…;
  • You have experience with competitive bidding (competitions): conceptual design, quick estimation of building cost, definition and negotiation of the fee, presentation to the client or authorities, etc.
  • You have experience in conducting multidisciplinary projects in Construction with multiple stakeholders, time and budget constraints;
  • You have good communication skills and you are a team player;
  • You are client-oriented, solution-oriented and flexible;
  • You are fluent in Dutch or French and you have a professional level of English.
  • You are prepared to work with teams in our different regional offices (Ghent, Brussels and Hasselt) and cooperate with our office in Romania;
  • You are willing to make occasional international trips for our international collaboration and international projects

The Mechanical Metier Department (MM) of the Nuclear Entity is in charge of the following tasks:

  • Procurement of mechanical equipment, nuclear fuel and associated services
  • Quality surveillance, supplier & repair qualification
  • In-service inspection and plant/material ageing management

Mission 

In the framework of the current major projects related to Fuel Supply, Spent Nuclear Fuel Management, Emptying of Deactivation Pools and Decommissioning [new spent fuel storage buildings, spent fuel & radioactive waste transport/storage casks, fuel repair, damaged fuel conditioning, fuel accessories management, etc.], you will be in charge of the following activities in close relation with the Project Managers and the Customers:

  • Drafting of requests for quotation, bid evaluation and Customer support for negotiation; 
  • Contract follow-up from the kick-off meeting to site delivery and acceptance tests;
  • Equipment Manufacturing follow-up in close cooperation with the Quality Surveillance group and with the Customer;
  • Supervision of interventions in nuclear power units;
  • Assisting and technical expertise in support of Customers and Plant Operators; 
  • Interfacing between Utilities and Contractors;
  • Assisting the plant operator and the Customer in meeting and technical discussions with the Belgian Safety Authorities;
  • Organizing of and participating into reviewing activities of safety files for spent fuel and radioactive waste casks and damaged spent fuel treatment;
  • Participating in international tenders in the framework of the Mechanical Department nuclear activities.
 

Profile 

  • Engineering degree, preferably in mechanics or electro-mechanics - nuclear engineering degree or similar education path is a strong advantage;
  • +5 years experience with at least 2 years working experience in the nuclear sector;
  • Interest in design, manufacturing and site operation activities;
  • Interest in multi-skills problem and technical curiosity;
  • French or Dutch speaking with a very good command of English;

Your profile 

 

  • You hold a Master’s degree from an accredited engineering and/or business university

  • You have an excellent command of English, and a good knowledge of Dutch and/or French. Knowledge of other languages is welcome.

  • Perform risk & safety management missions requiring a high level of skills, experience and competence. This may include
    • Lead participative risk assessments (PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, etc.).
    • Perform safety audits as lead auditor.
    • Perform detailed risk assessments such as QRA, PLANOP, SIL allocations, ATEX etc.
    • Define risk and safety management strategies related to a complex industrial project environment.
    • Access and advice on process and occupational safety during system and equipment specification and procurement.

 

Profile 

  • You have a master’s degree in engineering and with preferably an additional master’s degree in safety management/engineering.
  • You dispose of at least 5 years of experience in a similar function (risk and safety management for industrial projects) and are experienced in the domains of process safety, occupational safety and construction site safety. 
  • You are familiar with methodologies such as design and occupational safety assessments, audits, participative risk assessment methodologies such as FMEA, HAZOP, HAZID, etc, quantitative reliability and risk assessment.
  • You are fluent in Dutch, French and English
  • You consider quality of work as a main priority and are willing to respect the requirements of the Tractebel quality management system.
  • You are convincing, creative and customer focused.
  • You communicate and report efficiently in an open and honest way. Reporting is an important part of the job.

Context

The CTM team (Contract and Transaction Management) is overseeing the maintenance and evolution of the handful of Trading systems (Meteor, Sungard Zynet, Orchestrade, …) that allow GEMS to partake in all kinds of Market activities.

Within CTM, Flexibility and Renewable Services teams are in charge of the IS applications dedicated to the Green power business.

 

 

Role

The main role of is to ensure the team delivers regular consistent IS software increments on Renewable businesses consisting in bug fixes, enhancement on existing functions or new functionalities (small projects and/or new deal management functions). He is also the local point of contact of the users, representing the global team. For the first year, the main priority will be to define the target organization (location strategy, knowledge sharing) for the teams.

This role is fulfilled with particular attention and expectation on robustness (technical and functional), quality of the delivered software, maintainability and performance of the delivered software.


Key missions

Activities

  • Resources management:  team operational management (internal + external consultants), team skill management and staffing, people development for Internal resources ;
  • Demand management: put in place a team backlog, prioritized according to client needs, manage relationship with other IT teams and external clients (business and support functions), communicate status ;
  • Process management: define, adapt and enforce team organization and methodology (including development best practices and ALM methodology) ;
  • Project management: define suitable project organization, communication, functional and technical architecture proposal ;
  • Infrastructure management: responsible for the proper run of the infrastructure. Making the necessary evolutions to answer business requirements ;

  • Move Renewable application landscape towards a high quality and agile standards ;
  • Be the owner of the Renewable workstream technical excellence ;
