Job Purpose/Mission 

The Regional Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth in the entire region as per the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals. He will be responsible for growing and managing a healthy customer portfolio in their region, enforcing good customer relationship management and hitting loan recovery targets.  

This crucial position has many important operational responsibilities, including: motivating and monitoring the performance of your Sales Team and Field Training Team; directly managing and coaching team leaders and Field Training Managers; investigating any issues affecting the repayment rates in your region e.g. fraud; managing stakeholder relationships within your region; and bridging the information gap between the field and HQ, with the overall aim to deliver commercial excellence and overall business growth. 

The role will report to the Uganda Commercial Performance Manager, and they will work closely with our field development, marketing and customer finance teams.  The Regional Commercial Manager Manager will also share best practices with teams in other regions as we work to improve commercial operations across Uganda. 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Business Optimization: 

  • Manage overall business performance of allocated region, define and implement strategies to grow business and recover declining performance. 

  • Credit Risk Management: Ensure your region maintains a healthy portfolio, with most customers trending towards completion – and quickly investigate on the ground and react with a change in strategy when customer repayment falls below acceptable levels.  

  • Coordinate the implementation of the marketing initiatives while ensuring we get maximum return on investment for all the costs we incur in areas of marketing.  

  • Propose new polices to iterate business strategy, as per the context of different regions   

  

  1. New Point of Sale expansion and Brand footprint: 

  • Lead in the regional expansion by ensuring the retail network in your region grows with the help of an Area Retail Coordinator hired under each Team leader. 

  • Keep an eye on competition within your region and ensure you take adequate measures to protect and grow our business from competitive pressures.  

  • Pro-actively inform your leadership team and take measures to ensure My Sol remains a paramount brand name in solar products for your area.  

  • Design working strategies for getting >80% of Point of Sales delivering >150 sales per month. 

  • Prospects and Map potential sales locations, neighborhoods and towns to boost footprint and baseline structures. 

  

  1. Recruit, Train, and Mentor regional teams:  

  • Recruit and Train Sales field team (Team leaders and My sol champions) (in existing and new areas) about Sales strategy and processes, ensuring High quality cohorts . 

  • Use multiple avenues for finding the right talent to sell our products with the help of village influencers such as the village heads, teachers, religious heads, doctors, farmers and others, as applicable.  

  • Provide complete clarity to the regional team related to their day-to-day tasks, sales & collections plans, routes and targets. 

  • Manage performance and Coach low performing sales field team (including Agents) 

  

 Knowledge and skills  

  • >5 years sales experience within a progressive sale and/or financial services environment or rural environment, with at least 3 years in management role, leading large teams   

  • Experience in Data-Driven Decision-making process  

  • Strong communication skills  

  • Experience working in rural areas  

  • Experience managing a commission-based sales team  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & Google Apps

Purpose / Mission

The HR Director at ENGIE Energy Access (EEA) is a high impact leadership position that will deliver EEA wide HR projects, support country HR Leads in finalizing projects and provide senior level HR business partnership. The right candidate is business savvy, with high expertise in the people and hard skills required for a highly functioning HR function.

This candidate will provide hands-on support to deliver on projects themselves and support the wider HR team in delivering on their projects. The successful candidate will have proven experience in leading disparate teams in multiple locations, providing mature support while leading by example. The job holder will also be responsible for leading the dissemination of company values to the entire team while working to restore confidence in the HR function. The future incumbent will be able to deploy and successfully steer implementation and execution of the ENGIE HR strategy, policies and processes, and so be a professional member of the ENGIE HR line.

Scope of Work

Strategic Leadership of the HR Function:

  • Finalize the operationalization of the EEA Culture (incl. country and entity specificities) and make it living in collaboration with the EEA Head of Communication

  • Support EEA CEO driving Engie and EEA culture within EEA Senior Leadership Team

  • Drive employee engagement across the organization by creating active feedback channels, ensuring regular engagement surveys are conducted, supervising the team to implement meaningful action planning based on the findings.

  • Lead the dissemination of findings from the engagement surveys and drive communication to the wider team on the survey results and the proposed action plans.

  • Support cultural transformation through deployment of Group programs (Be.U@ENGIE , DEI Roadmap, Engie Ways of Working, Engie Ways of Leading) across EEA. 

 

Talent Management and Leadership Development:

  • Design & implement the talent development strategy to deliver professional development and growth opportunities across all EEA employee types, including skills development, learning and development programming, career pathing, and succession planning for key leadership roles

  • Build and implement leadership development and coaching programming

  • Design and Implement meaningful performance management across the organization to ensure that we have a good understanding of our talent, can effectively identify and reward top talent, and address cases of underperformance

  • Design recruitment, succession planning, and mobility programs to ensure business continuity and that we have the right skills and people to achieve business goals

  • Connect with Flexible Generation & Retail & Group processes (ex: People & Position Review process)

 

Data and Tools:

  • Implement follow-up on any Group HRIS & related processes (ex: Sezame)

  • Propose and implement additional HR tools supporting our activities and not covered by Engie’s solutions (Leaves, expenses management)

  • Create an HR repository of data that is and remains the single source of truth for HR matters

 

HR Business Partnership:

  • Improve HR’s and standing with the rest of the business, providing clear guidance and direction on all HR matters in support of the business.

  • Provide HR business partnering support to the Leadership Team and Country Teams

  • Manage and mitigate senior level ethics risks N-1 and N-2 level

 

Country Team HR Support:

  • Lead, mentor, guide and develop in country HR leadership to deliver key business objectives

  • Define and roll out unified EEA HR Policies and an EEA employee Handbook that provide guidelines to HR practitioners across EEA.

Knowledge and skills 

Experience:

  • 10+ years working experience in talent management and development

  • 10+ years experience in operational HR functions

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience in both “hard” and “soft” HR specifically job grading, remuneration package design, payroll management, etc.

  • Successful experience as Talent Director or similar role with at least regional or global oversight

  • An understanding of multinational companies or vertically integrated institutions operating in multiple markets

  • Experience in company integration (preferred)

  • Working experience in Africa and Europe

  • Living/ practical experience in at least one country in Africa or similar market with Bottom of the Pyramid customers

  • Experience with Hay Job Grading or similar job grading methodology

  • Leadership and project management experience: we are looking for entrepreneurial candidates who have started or contributed significantly to a particular project, team, or new company and we especially value candidates who have seen projects through from start to finish, from design to scale up phase

Job Purpose/Mission  

 

The Logistics Assistant is an integral part our Operations, the Logistics Assistant will support the Logistics Manager in the day to day running of the logistics requirements of Operations. Job Purpose/Mission  

The Logistics Manager is an integral part of the Operations department. He/she must be attentive to detail, agile, ready to learn, grow and champion our logistics operations. He/she must be attentive to cost reduction, efficiency, in speedy deliveries, knowledge of customs procedure and harmonization codes, cargo & tax classification. He/she will also interface with forwarders, transport and will be a leader who leads by example with ethics and integrity. He/she will closely work with the Head of Operations to align operational needs to achieve efficiency. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Demand &Supply Forecasting  

  • Analyze historical & existing data to develop accurate demand and supply forecasts. 

  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to accurately predict future requirements from manufacturers and suppliers  

  • Ensure the SOP Process is properly followed and implemented while working closely with the head of operations  

  • Make sure Demand &Supply Planning tools are accurately and timely filled and passed onto the HOD for review and approval  

  • Work closely with internal functions to predict stock outs and immediately source from neighboring entities to avoid stock outs and or overstocks.

Clearing & Forwarding  

  • Manage end to end clearing and forwarding process in coordination with contracted agencies  

  • Manage C&F Supplier relationships  

  • Properly assess tax worksheets, carefully study CPC, HSC codes to make sure we are accurately paying the right amounts  

  • Develop and build strong relationships with regulatory bodies like URA,UNBS,et al  

  • Prepare and follow through on exemptions and make sure we are compliant and within gazetted regimes at all times  

  • Make sure there is proper documentation before clearances are done and make sure there are no errors that will lead to delayed clearances and penalties 

  • Follow up on PVOCs and any other inspections required to facilitate the clearing and forwarding process 

Field Distribution  

  • Design, manage and implement an efficient and effective distribution schedule & report to the HOD  

  • Analyze the field stock distribution planner to effectively monitor stock availability at all points of distribution  

  • Manage distribution cost to align within budget requirement & target  

  • Manage & monitor while tracking 3pl providers to match to EEA requirements  

  • Proper and accurate forecasting of field points of stock requirements while avoiding over stocks or understocks and share with HOD for approval

Reverse Logistics  

  • Work with the HOD to build, run and account for efficient reverse logistics processes  

  • Work with HOD to manage efficiently and effectively product returns on time in full while working with the data team to track accurately and report to the HOD  

  • Work with the HOD to manage stock availability and forecast of SWAP stock 

Administration/leadership  

  • Manage,train,mentor and lead a team to effect overall positive results  

  • Keep track of license requirements, expiries and applications for HOD approval  

  • Set goals,KPIs for your team and track them to full utilization

               Job Purpose/Mission 

    We are looking for a talented, self-starting software engineer to join the digital team to help deliver affordable solar power to emerging markets. This position offers a great opportunity to work alongside an elite team of engineers and business professionals and directly contribute to the success of a mission driven company with social and environmental impact. Candidates will get the opportunity to work in a diverse technology stack at scale.

                 Responsibilities

    1. Contribute to the bi-weekly software planning sessions, together with product managers and engineers to discuss delivery time estimates, risks and key practical considerations (such as technical debt, feasibility at scale ….)
    2. Take requirements and deliver a complete solution subject to all engineering best practices, timeline considerations and potential dependencies in the software with minimal to no supervision.
    3. Develop complex software that optimally uses resources to best meet customer needs.
    4. Participate and contribute to   architectural discussion on important areas of software that impact performance and reliability of our software. Identify and communicate risk in approaches or implementation details, assumptions, etc...
    5. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
    6.  provide support where engineering intervention is required (e.g due to bugs or performance problems, on-call)

    Experience and skills 

    Required experience:

    • At least 3 years of relevant experience
    • Programming language proficiency in Python and mastery of at least one web frameworks (Django, Flask, fast API)
    • Good knowledge of object relational mappers (and their implementation design patterns), No SQL, PostgreSQL and storage options
    • Strong knowledge of design patterns and OOP practices, TDD
    • Strong API development and documentation experience
    • Experience using observability and monitoring tools
    • Working knowledge of good practices for computer and data security
    • Experience with git: GitHub/Gitlab based source code management and deployment pipelines and best practice (CI/CD)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

    Desired skills:

    • Javascript and typescript proficiency with strong knowledge of one JS framework
    • HTML4/5, CSS3, AJAX, Bootstrap along with strong knowledge of DOM
    • Strong software engineering and architectural patterns background (MVC, MVP, CQRS, DDD, SOLID, hexagonal, Microservices)
    • Experience creating and maintaining scalable web applications in cloud context: elastic cache, distributed task processing, load balancing, containerization, clustering
    • Good experience on high availability, observability and structured logging
    • API design to scale in Python (REST, GraphQL,Apollo...)
    • Knowledge of container and container orchestration
    • Web and application Server backend management is a strong advantage
    • Good knowledge of web application security with standards such as OWASP
    • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its services, such as, but not limited to, EC2 ,RDS, EBS, S3, Lambda functions

    Qualifications:
