Thanks to a strong increase in business activity, we are currently recruiting a fulltime Nuclear Engineer Radioactive Waste Management for a permanent position in our Brussels HQ, Namur, Hasselt or Ghent office (partial homework possible).

 

Function

As  Nuclear Engineer Radioactive Waste Management you will join our dynamic team which is responsible for the expertise field related to Radiation Protection, Radioactive Waste Management and Nuclear Decommissioning. In close collaboration with your colleagues, your Group Manager and the Project Manager, you conduct Engineering Studies in the field of Radioactive Waste Management, this covers both the radioactive waste resulting from operations and from dismantling. 

 

Core responsibilities

Technical expertise

  • Knowledge about solid, liquid and gaseous radioactive waste types and treatment;
  • Knowledge about treatment and conditioning of solid radioactive waste;
  • Development of waste management strategies;
  • Verification of technical specifications, technical follow-up of contracts and commissioning of installations for the treatment and/or conditioning of radioactive waste.

Collaboration

  • Verify the technical work performed by your peers;
  • Actively engage in knowledge sharing with others;
  • Coaching of young colleagues;
  • Working in close relationship with the final Client and interact with Safety Authorities and the Radioactive Waste Management Agency.

Working environment

Within the Tractebel Business Area Global Nuclear, you will join one of our technical departments which is managed by the Head of Métier and the Group Managers. Together with the engineers in the teams, we cover all Engineering aspects in the field of:

  • Radiation Protection, Radiological Characterization and Radiation Monitoring;
  • Radioactive Waste Management (both waste from operational and from dismantling operations);
  • Nuclear Decommissioning Processes (preparation of the dismantling of the Belgian Nuclear Power Plants).

Your profile 

Minimum requirements:

  • an experience of 5 years at least in the domain of radioactive waste management;
  • a Master’s degree in Engineering / Sciences;
  • Language: (French or Dutch) and English;
  • Knowledge of the Belgian Nuclear Ecosystem;
  • Working principles of a Nuclear Power Plant (type Pressurized Water Reactor);
  • Knowledge about the waste management systems of the Belgian NPPs is an asset;

Utility Plant Operator I

Utility Plant Operator I

What You Can Expect

As a Utility Plant Operator I (UPO I) at our University of Iowa location, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating power generation equipment that powers campus facilities, including the University Hospital. This equipment includes, pumps, air compressors, conveying systems, fans, electric motors, ash conveying systems, control valves, mobile equipment, and other industrial equipment.

 

Each day begins with a handoff from the previous shift to understand the current operating status of the plant and tasks to be completed. The primary task of a UPO I involves the safe operation of the plant's equipment. You will conduct hourly rounds, monitoring equipment status, checking for leaks or abnormalities. Additional responsibilities include housekeeping tasks, and completing logs at the end of rounds and shift. Assisting with weekly preventive maintenance (PM) during day shifts.

We currently operate three steam generators and four natural gas-powered generators. Communication of pertinent information among shift members, support personnel, maintenance, and management is facilitated through Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Maximo (our Computerized Maintenance Management System).

 

The UPO I may also provide relief and support in other job classifications, including Maintenance and Fuel Unloading. Other duties include performing regular testing and treatment of boiler water as directed and checking offsite equipment located at the Hospital and West Campus.

This position follows a rotating shift schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks. You will work seven scheduled days every fourteen days (Dupont rotating schedule), including nights, holidays, and weekends.

 

Availability for vacation coverage, emergency relief, and overtime as required by the plant management team is essential.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Degree or GED equivalent required
  • A minimum of two (2) years industrial plant,  process plant, shipboard power & propulsion or power plant experience operating boilers, pumps, fans, conveyors or similar experience

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • You must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record, operation of company owned vehicles is required
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Required to be on call as needed/deemed necessary by Supervisor/Management
  • Required to have a personal telephone to be able to receive emergency notifications

Your mission

 

As Project Director in our Infrastructure division you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in the proper follow-up and execution of major integrated infrastructure projects,  each characterised by their specific context and often involving major works of art (tunnels, bridges,...). 

 

Your key responsabilities

 

  • Supervising the commercial trajectory of large projects in close consultation with the URBAN commercial team, taking into account the following aspects:
    •     identification and analysis of technical, financial and contractual risks
    •     validation of the technical content
    •     calculation of price and profitability
    •     drafting of agreements
  • The allocation and planning of staff to projects
  • Ensuring the overall management of the realisation of the projects in consultation with the project teams (contractual, financial, technical and management aspects)
  • Managing the project teams by indicating the objectives and guidelines to be taken into account during the execution of the projects (quality, cost, deadline)
  • Being the direct contact of the clients for the execution of the contracts, in particular: invoicing, payments, drafting of appendices and claims;
  • Updating and maintaining the data so that a state of affairs can be drawn up on a quarterly basis of
    • The total and yet to be realised income
    • The total and yet to be realised expenses
    • The profitability of the projects under your scope
  • The effective use of specialised knowledge

Ce vei face:

  • Vei asigura suport în implementarea tuturor standardelor și regulilor Grupului ENGIE privind securitatea și sănătatea în muncă și situații de urgență.
  • Ve implementa procesele și instrucțiunile de Sănătate Securitate în Muncă / Situații de Urgență
  • Vei elabora instrucțiuni proprii de aplicare a normelor de SSM/SU și documentații necesare cu caracter de informare și instruire a lucrătorilor în funcție de particularitățile proceselor de muncă din organizație, de numărul de angajați, de riscurile de accidente și îmbolnăviri profesionale.
  • Vei propune atribuțiile și răspunderile în domeniul securității și sănătății în muncă, ce revin lucrătorilor, corespunzător funcțiilor exercitate, care se consemnează în fișa postului;
  • Vei verifica cunoașterea și aplicarea de către toți lucrătorii a măsurilor prevăzute în planul de prevenire și protecție, precum și a atribuțiilor și responsabilităților ce le revin în domeniul securității și sănătății în muncă, stabilite prin fișa postului.
  • Vei acorda consultanță coordonatorilor diferitelor departamente din cadrul organizației cu privire la reglementările legislative în vigoare și la normele privitoare la SSM/SU.
  • Vei elabora tematici pentru toate fazele de instruire, stabilirea periodicității adecvate pentru fiecare loc de muncă, asigurarea informării și instruirii lucrătorilor în domeniul securității și sănătății în muncă și verificarea cunoașterii și aplicării de către lucrători a informațiilor primite.
  • Vei oferi suport la elaborarea programului de instruire-testare la nivelul întreprinderii sau unității.
  • Vei oferi suport la întocmirea planului de acțiune în caz de pericol grav și iminent, conform prevederilor art. 101-107 din Normele medodologice de aplicare a legii 319/2006 și te vei  asigura ca toți lucrătorii să fie instruiți pentru aplicarea lui.
  • Vei menține evidența meseriilor și a profesiilor prevăzute de legislația specifică, pentru care este necesară autorizarea exercitării lor.
  • Vei menține evidența posturilor de lucru care necesită examene medicale suplimentare și cele care la recomandarea medicului de medicina muncii, necesită testarea aptitudinilor sau control psihologic periodic.
  • Vei ține legătura cu medicul de medicina muncii și vei face programările pentru controlul medical periodic și la angajare.
  • Vei colabora cu lucrătorii desemnați/serviciile interne/serviciile externe ai/ale altor angajatori, în situația în care mai mulți angajatori își desfășoară activitatea în același loc de muncă.
  • Vei actualiza planul de avertizare, planul de protecție și prevenire și planul de evacuare.
  • Vei propune clauze privind securitatea și sănătatea în muncă la încheierea contractelor de prestări de servicii cu alți angajatori, inclusiv la cele încheiate cu angajatori străini.
  • Vei întocmi fișele individuale de instruire SSM/SU la angajare și face instructajul introductiv general SSM/SU noilor angajați.
  • Vei face vizite programate și neprogramate în vederea verificării respectării normelor de securitate și sănătate în muncă și a respectării normelor PSI și vei propune măsuri de prevenire și protecție.
  • Vei colabora cu reprezentanții lucrătorilor cu răspunderi specifice în domeniul securității și sănătății lucrătorilor și vei prezenta propuneri în scopul diminuării riscurilor pentru lucrători sau al eliminării surselor de pericol.
  • Vei participa la întocmirea planului de prevenire a accidentelor de muncă și a îmbolnăvirilor profesionale, evaluând riscurile de producere a evenimentelor periculoase, propunând măsuri pentru asigurarea siguranței în desfășurarea proceselor de muncă.
  • Vei oferi suport în realizarea cercetării accidentelor de muncă și elaborarea documentației necesare pentru:
    •  autoritățile competențe (ITM pe parte de SSM/SU, Casă de Pensii, etc) în conformitate cu reglementările legale rapoarte privind investigarea evenimentului;
    • conducerea grupului ENGIE în conformitate cu metodologia internă.
  • Vei urmări realizarea măsurilor dispuse de către inspectorii de muncă, cu prilejul vizitelor de control și al cercetării evenimentelor
  • Vei verifica înregistrările din fișele individuale de instruire SSM/SU.

 

Experiență, calificări, cunoștințe și abilități:

  • Studii superioare finalizate cu diplomă de licență;
  • Curs inspector securitate și sănătate în muncă, durata minimum 80 de ore;
  • Curs de Cadru Tehnic PSI;
  • Experiență minimum 2 ani în domeniul securității și sănătății în muncă;
  • Cunoștințe Pachet Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Cunoștințe de limba engleză nivel mediu;
  • Permis de conducere categ. B;
  • Capacitate de organizare, analiză și sinteză;
  • Bune abilități de comunicare și prezentare;

Utility Plant Operator II

What You Can Expect

As a Utility Plant Operator II (UPO II) at our University of Iowa location, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating power generation equipment that powers campus facilities, including the University Hospital. This equipment includes, boilers, pumps, air compressors, conveying systems, fans, electric motors, ash conveying systems, control valves, and mobile equipment.

 

Each day begins with a handoff from the previous shift to understand the current operating status of the plant and tasks to be completed. The primary task of a UPO II involves the safe operation of the plant's boilers. You will conduct hourly rounds, monitoring pressures, checking for leaks or abnormalities. Additional responsibilities include monitoring pressure reducing valves, completing logs at the end of the shift, and performing weekly preventive maintenance (PM) during day shifts. We currently operate three steam generators and four natural gas-powered generators. Communication of pertinent information among shift members, production support personnel, maintenance, and management is facilitated through Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Maximo (our Computerized Maintenance Management System).

 

The UPO II may also provide relief and support in other job classifications, including Maintenance and Fuel Unloading. Other duties include performing regular testing and treatment of boiler water as directed and checking offsite equipment such as the Hospital boiler and West Campus boiler.

This position follows a rotating shift schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks. You will work seven scheduled days every fourteen days (Dupont rotating schedule), including nights, holidays, and weekends.

 

Availability for vacation coverage, emergency relief, and overtime as required by the plant management team is essential.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Degree or GED equivalent required
  • A minimum of three (3) years industrial plant,  process plant, shipboard power & propulsion or power plant experience operating boilers, pumps, fans, conveyors

ENGIE North America is seeking a High Voltage Electrician to join our Team at the University of Iowa Campus. This will be a local position with no travel. You will be a part of a team that is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of all utility plants and utility distribution networks on the University of Iowa Main and Oakdale campuses. You must have a current Iowa Journeyman Electrician license Class A or B. . The most critical aspect of this job is safety.  Yours, your teams, and our customers on campus. We are looking for an electrician that can work safely and efficiently, and takes pride in getting the job done right the first time.

 

Daily you will be performing preventative maintenance and repair work on campus, You will ensure all work is performed consistently with Engie’s culture of physical safety, process safety, and psychological safety for all staff, contractors, service providers, and stakeholders.  You will be determining jobsite work sequences and the safety procedures required for each task. You will work with various team members to procure materials, coordinates outages, and complete work by places systems back into service.  You will be performing and documenting pre-job hazard assessments and provide pre-job briefs as needed. Daily you will be completing Installs,  troubleshooting, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electric utility substation and distribution systems including but not limited to medium voltage circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, cabling systems, and production plant electrical motors, starters, and controls up through 15kV.  You will be Interpreting and maintaining wiring diagrams, schematics, updating system logs, drawings, and documentation on utility systems.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Required to have a current Class A or B Electrician’s license valid in the State of Iowa
  • A minimum of a High school diploma or GED, and completion of a formal Apprenticeship
  • Four (4) years of experience in the trade, inclusive of apprenticeship
  • Two (2) years must be working with high voltage (over 600 volts through 15kV) in an electric utility, power plant, or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of equipment and methods used in general industrial facility or utility maintenance work
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices associated with utility or industrial operations, including those for working around high voltage equipment and the ability to do so with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of electric utility systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of tools and methods necessary to troubleshoot and maintain electric utility equipment
  • Knowledge of the trade occupational hazards and safety precautions while working in confined spaces, aerial or elevated locations, extreme temperatures, excavations, and other environmental-caused conditions

What You Can Expect

Our Project Development Senior Advisor will be solving for the two biggest challenges in industry, decarbonization and cost competitiveness.  Identifying and implementing unique solutions to these challenges are the mission of ENGIE North America’s Energy Solutions (ES) business. We are looking to grow our team to provide the best possible support  and to grow our offerings and book of business for decarbonization, efficiency and alternative energy production offerings. This role will be based in Houston, TX.

 

  • You will be working in tandem with the internal design office and multidisciplinary support functions to create proposals and bids, for new and existing clients.  You will contribute to ENGIE’s commercial performance by providing expertise and utilizing consultative sales skills to win major projects with your  innovative solutions to client’s needs.
  • You will analyze opportunities by understanding customer needs, looking for solutions, and developing the strategy in possible collaboration with the Originator who will have pre-targeted the potential project
  • You will build up and lead the project team and build proposals together by ensuring the management and coordination of ES’s various internal resources: commercial, technical, legal, purchasing, financial, architectural, HR, etc.
  • You will be responsible for the deliverable or the global proposal, which must meet the expectations of the client and the requirements of ENGIE ES, and all actions required up to the signature of the contracts with the client and stakeholders
  • Your role includes organizing and participating in the drafting of the bid/ proposal, representing our company during oral presentations, negotiating with the client and partners, quoting the services, etc. while ensuring the management of the bid by monitoring the schedule, working meetings, and developing an action plan
  • You consult with and collaborate with internal stakeholders throughout the process until signature and handoff to the operations team

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or other relevant field required where  you have learned a foundation of skills in project engineering, finance, and business development
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of project development experience in energy solutions, and decarbonization
  • Proven record of accomplishment in developing energy solutions related projects, including experience taking projects through financing
  • Experienced with manufacturing, or district energy projects
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks  
  • Track record of successfully working with public officials to obtain development permits, tax abatements
  • General understanding of market trends and resulting impacts on project development
  • Superior verbal, written, and digital communication skills with high level of attention to detail; Presenting to a wide range of audiences, including, stakeholders, such as  government officials, corporate leaders, and financiers

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $146,300 – $224,135.00 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
