Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) is one of ENGIE’s Business Units. On February 1st[HB(EMS1] , the GEM BU becomes GEMS, Global Energy Management & Sales. This Business Entity, bringing together the B2B Supply and energy management activities, aims to develop new geographies for GEMS, in order to accelerate the supply and management of low-carbon energy for our customers, thus creating value for the Group.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE

 

Role

As a Power Scheduler, you will report to Head of GEMS Japan. You will contribute to the fulfillment of the missions APAC Power Business development ambition, Coordinating with multiple external and internal stakeholders globally.

 

 

Main activities

  • Responsible for scheduling operation for Japan Physical Power portfolio
  • Monitor physical power position and nominate bid into Japan Electricity Power Exchange (JEPX) Day-ahead market and settle the balance of positions with Transmission System Operator (TSO)
  • Submit Supply and Demand plan to the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO).
  • Facilitate any day-to-day delivery issues between trade counterparties.
  • Regulatory reporting to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and keep track for any update in regulatory environment
  • Being a primary contact with external counterparty incl. JEPX, TSO, METI and OCCTO for the relevant issues
  • Liaison internally with IT and back office to implement smooth scheduling operation. And improve efficiency of the trade cycle

  • Bachelor’s Degree or more with at least 1 or 2 years of working experience
  • Excellent attention to detail with both numerical and verbal precision
  • An effective team player and passionate about Energy trading
  • Knowledge and experience of Power market is a plus but not prerequisite

 

 

Technical skills

  • Ability to handle day-to-day operational issue independently and solve the problem in collaboration with the front office, IT and the back office

Context :

Voor onze business-unit Global Energy Management and Sales in Brussel zijn wij op zoek naar een Customer Service Officer binnen onze Customer Service Afdeling (Business-to-Business).

Als Customer Service Officer speel je een cruciale rol in het leveren van een uitzonderlijke klantervaring. Je zorgt voor het afhandelen van diverse klant gerelateerde zaken indien nodig met tussenkomst van andere partijen. Je luistert actief naar de behoeften van onze klanten en biedt tijdige en passende oplossingen om hun problemen op te lossen. Daarnaast werk je nauw samen met verschillende interne afdelingen om klanttevredenheid te waarborgen en verbeteringen voor te stellen die onze servicekwaliteit verhogen.

Tijdens contacten met klanten detecteert u commerciële opportuniteiten en u speelt daar op in.

Verantwoordelijkheden :

Je beheert jouw klantenportefeuille en bent contact persoon voor deze klanten in nauwe samenwerking met een Accountmanager, coach of collega.

Je beheert klantengegevens/ informatie in de productiesystemen en zorgt ervoor dat die up-to-date en correct is.

Je maakt offertes/ contracten op voor de klanten in lijn met onze commerciële aanpak en volgens richtlijnen van de Account Managers, met inbegrip van offertes en contracten op maat. Je volgt de getekende contracten op en de activiteiten hieraan gelinkt.

  • Je werkt samen met andere partijen/ diensten om eventuele vragen/ problemen op te lossen.
  • Je draagt bij aan het verbeteren van  de processen en systemen om de efficiëntie te verhogen.
  • Je start switches op en volgt deze op in het kader van nieuwe en bestaande contracten.
  • Je rapporteert aan de leidinggevende over de prestaties van de customer service activiteiten, over eventuele problemen of verbeteringen voorstellen.

Contexte :

Pour notre unité commerciale Global Energy Management and Sales à Bruxelles, nous recherchons un Customer Service Officer au sein de notre département Customer Service (Business-to-Business).

En tant qu'Agent du service client, vous êtes un réel ambassadeur d’Engie auprès de nos clients. Vous leur garantissez, avec l’intervention d’autres départements si nécessaire, un support irréprochable. Context:

The transversal data officer works within the global Data Office for GEMS. The Data office is under the direct responsibility of the Chief Data officer and is responsible for data governance, quality as well as driving the overall data strategy for the organization under the guidance of the CDO.

 

Role:

The transversal data officer primary mission is to ensure the proper operationalization of Data Governance in relation with all stakeholders. Besides, the Data Officer must meet Data Governance program objectives, budget constraints and timeline.

 

Data Office roadmap and program monitoring:

Assists the CDO in defining the Data Office roadmap considering data centric strategies involving Data Science and AI initiatives

Makes sure that Data Office roadmap is updated

Ensures that KPIs allowing to supervise the governance program advancement are defined and monitored

Assists the CDO in prioritizing data subjects and is involved in the construction of IS roadmap on Data subjects

Assists the CDO in organizing and preparing data committees

Context:

One of the business platforms within GEMS, BP Clients, is dedicated to serving and expanding our client portfolio by offering them valuable and sustainable energy management solutions.

The Customer Journey department handles the energy contracts (gas and power) of our clients from the moment they are signed until their completion, taking care of invoicing, reporting, payment tracking, collection and estimation of volumes and revenues for the monthly closing process.

Customer Journey works closely with the sales team of BP Clients, which specializes in Industrial Giants.

Role:

We are looking for a Customer Journey Officer who will be responsible for the post-trade and invoicing activities of our Gas and Power Full Supply Contracts for Belgium and the Netherlands. As a Customer Journey officer, you will be the main point of contact for our customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty. You will also be involved in the digitalization project of our invoicing processes, which aims to improve efficiency and quality.

Your main tasks will include:

- Manage the customer relationship from contract signature to invoice payment, including contract administration, billing, dispute resolution, and customer feedback.

- Contribute to the digitalization project of our invoicing processes, by providing feedback, testing solutions, and supporting the change management.

- Collaborate with the digital team, the Sales, the Structuration, the Hedging Position Management and Finances teams to build what is needed to give the customer an excellent experience when signing a Full Supply contract with GEM

- Collaborate with finances to be on time for Closing and more generally speaking of financial events

- Give visibility on what is done by the team, for instance using KPI

- Monitor and report on the performance of our contracts, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.

Context:

As one of GEMS’s front divisions, BP Downstream’s mission is to manage energy risks for Engie Energy Supply activities in CWE. More specifically, Energy Management for Sales Belgium team provides quality energy management services to B2C and B2B portfolios. The EMS BE team interacts with several internal teams such as: B2C BE, Supply B2B BE, Trading, IT, Finance.

Role:

As a senior portfolio manager in EMS BE,

  • You actively assess and manage commodity risks linked to the dynamics of a sales portfolio, for all its commodities – Power, Natural gas, Certificates - meaning operate and optimize costing, forecasting, sourcing, and hedging strategies, within a defined mandate;
  • You report the portfolio financials linked to the energy management results and performance to the commercial BU;
  • You design and implement various strategies to reduce, internalize or externalize risks, towards and in collaboration with stakeholders; (Trading, other BUs);
  • In close collaboration with the commercial entities, you structure and optimally cost standard and non-standard offers: by identifying potential risks and ensuring use of adequate and up to date costing models, risk bricks and data availability;
  • You use and challenge data, models, processes & tools to answers supplier’s vision and ambition;  
  • You take the business lead for the development of the tools, models, process, and portfolio/data representation of all commercial offer's portfolio;
  • You manage contacts multiple stakeholders to which you present and explain energy management

Wat ga je doen als (Junior) Business Analist Marktprocessen?

De energiemarkt is volop in beweging. ENGIE wil versneld overschakelen op duurzame energie en ontwikkelt energieproducten die duurzaam, flexibel en transparant zijn. Jouw uitdaging vind je in data over alle ontwikkelingen in de energiemarkt. Vraag en aanbod van energie moeten in balans zijn. Samen met jouw collega’s zorg je ervoor dat alles rondom de toewijzing (allocatie) en afrekening (settlement en reconciliatie) van verbruik op de best mogelijke manier geregeld is. Data vormen het begin- en eindpunt van je dag, want jij houdt je bezig met het:

 

  • Beheren van de gegevens van al onze klanten
  • Ontvangen van alle verbruiksgegevens.
  • Controleren op juistheid van de marktgegevens.
  • Volgen van actuele en toekomstige regelgeving voor de energiemarkt.
  • Verzorgen van financiële afwikkeling richting de netbeheerders en Sales organisaties.
  • Testen en accepteren van wijzigingen in processen en systemen.
  • Afstemmen met andere gebruikers bij wijzingen in marktprocessen of -gegevens.

 

In deze functie ontwikkel jij je als business analist voor alle allocatie, reconciliatie en settlement activiteiten. Samen met jouw gemotiveerde collega professionals werken jullie in het hart van de energievoorziening binnen een internationale context. Daarnaast zijn marktwijzigingen aan de orde van de dag. Als Business Analist Marktprocessen werk je bij Energy Management Sales (EMS). EMS is onderdeel van ENGIE dat als schakel tussen de verschillende energieleveranciers en de markt zorgt voor de juiste verdeling en balans tussen vraag en aanbod van klanten. Jij gaat binnen EMS deel uit maken van het team Marktdata. Dit team bestaat uit jonge mensen die op een open en transparante wijze EMS en ENGIE verder willen brengen. Role:

You will join a skillful, transversal and diversified team, Market Activities & Supply Global Oversight (formerly MAO). As a MAS GO officer, you will accompany GEMS Management, BU clients, Business Platforms (BP) and Expertise Centers (EC) to continuously secure and improve GEMS setup.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risks and performance oversight (global risk framework, liquidity risk, compliance & regulation, performance & value chain…).
  • Through your transversal projects and tactical missions, you will represent the Front Officers vis-à-vis the ECs, and conversely, be the voice of the ECs to the BPs, so as to promote best practices among various activities and countries, on both risks and performance topics.
  • In particular, you’ll contribute to energize the risk management ecosystem within the green power excellence initiative.
  • You’ll drive change management projects, by leveraging on your authority, pragmatism and technical knowledge to help building operational solutions and solve irritants.
  • In parallel with your projects, you will be in charge of the live supervision of market activities, which consists to ensure the coordinated escalation and remediation of transversal risk events (market, credit or liquidity crisis), in cooperation with the BPs and ECs.

 

Requirements:

  • Your curiosity, autonomy and fast learning skills (notably on digital) will help you to dive in a large variety of subjects with a high degree of precision to propose and co-construct operational solutions. Charisma, cooperation and leadership are mandatory in this role.
  • Digital: strong appetite for data-driven decision-making, leveraging on digital tools either to promote your ideas (occasional prototypes in Excel / Python / PowerBI / Dataiku) or retrieve disseminated information in a front-to-back digital ecosystem. Operational knowledge of core GEMS digital tools (eg. OT, Gemcube, Wattson) is a plus.
  • Project Management and cooperative mindset: ability to manage transversal projects, with very diverse stakeholders in front of both technical and organizational challenges. You will have to explain and convey messages about complex issues and irritants. Good knowledge of GEMS businesses and processes is a plus. 
  • Skills in trading and portfolio management activities, deploying natural analytical capacities to efficiently tackle your challenges and convince other experts. We also value experiences in risk management, financial reporting or regulatory frameworks.

 

Education:

Master, Engineering degree or Business School with a substantial quantitative content

Experiences in a risk, financial or regulatory framework is a plus.

 

Working place:

Within a bi-localized team, working place is Brussels (preferred) or Paris.

Context:

 

The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of around 40 quantitative analysts. It’s mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS.

The quantitative analyst will be part of the “Power & Emissions” quant team (approximately 10 people) and will be fully dedicated to the Business Platform Power Trading, Origination and Structuring.

 

 

Role:

 

The quantitative analyst should design and provide robust quantitative tools that have a concrete impact on the power business:

  • Work very closely with the BP Power Trading, Structuring and Origination, and mainly with the Renewable and Batteries Trading team and the Asset Backed Power Trading team. He / She needs to understand their business needs, and needs to provide them with high-quality quantitative support in their day to day activities.
  • Participate in enhancing the existing pricing and managing framework.
  • Deliver ad hoc tactical solutions as well as develop new pricers in the official pricing library.
  • Play a key role for developing new products, linked for example to the renewable and battery business (pricing, managing strategies, various risk indicators, …).
  • Promote best coding practices that comply with general rules and standards.
  • Document and share knowledge across GEMS on the different models used within GEMS.

 

 

Hard skills:

    • Strong Financial Mathematical background (probability, stochastic calculus, various numerical methods such as Monte Carlo, finite differences, …)

Context:

Within the “Information System” Expertise Center, DRM Solutions (Deal & Risk Management) is building and maintaining the suite of systems and tools that allow GEM to partake in its trading activities. Covering a wide range of activities (from Booking to Post Trade), and the full range of commodities (PPA, Power Asset, Gas Asset, Long Term Contract, Full Supply Contract, Biomass, LNG, OTC Exotic and Vanilla, Market Operations, etc…), DRM has been actively modernizing the IS landscape in recent years, through the replacement of its legacy trading platforms by Orchestrade (Gemstone project).

 

Part of the IS Orchestrade Core Team, the IS Risk & PnL FO Team is actively working on this brand-new and still fast evolving Orchestrade software. Currently composed of 2 sub-teams of about 20 Business Analysts and developers located in Paris, the IS Risk & PnL FO Team aims at providing a state-of-the-art pricing, Risk and P&L framework in Orchestrade for all commodity payoffs, designed in strong relationship with the editor, Front Officers, FO quants and Risk quants.

Role:

The Head of IS Risk & PnL FO is in charge of:

  • Oversee and manage the IS Risk & PnL FO Core and Risk & PnL FO Solutions teams
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the teams
  • Ensure that the teams are adhering to the organization’s standards and policies
  • Collaborate with other teams within the organization to ensure that the teams are aligned with the overall goals of the organization
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the teams and ensure that they are motivated and engaged
  • Work closely with the business to understand their needs and ensure that the teams are delivering the required services and solutions
  • Integrate the internal pricing library
  • Ensure that the developments necessary for the several streams of the Gemstone projects are delivered in time

The role will be attached to the head of IS Orchestrade Core Team.

 

Hard skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Proven experience in managing IS teams with knowledge on the pricing of derivatives products, ideally for commodities or energy products
  • Previous experience with Grid computing technology (Datasynapse, Symphony…)
  • Ideally previous experience with vendor package (Sophis, Murex, Orchestrade …)

 

Soft skills:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Excellent leadership skills to guide the team effectively, foster a collaborative environment, and manage conflicts
  • Decision-Making Ability: ability to make quick, informed decisions under high-pressure situations
  • Good communication skills across a range of channels and audiences to clearly explain ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and negotiate the needs and expectations of different stakeholders
  • Ability to establish credibility, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
