Fabien Lamirault was crowned European champion in Sheffield (UK) in the men's doubles alongside Julien Michaud. He also won a silver medal in the singles event. Congratulations to him!
Poema Newland took home a bronze medal from the European kitefoil championships in Portsmouth (UK). Following a superb start to the race, she picked up a penalty which pushed her down into third place behind English athlete Ellie Aldridge and Dutch woman Annelous Lamnerts.
September was all about podium places for Poema Newland who also won the Mediterranean Beach Games in Heraklion.
5th place for Wilfried Happio in the Diamond League finals held in Eugene (US). A fine end to the season for the Team ENGIE athlete who posted his second best time of the summer: 47’’83.
He is currently seventh in the world rankings.
Luka Mkheidze was knocked out in the second round of the Grand Slam in Baku in mid-September – a repeat of what happened in Budapest. Disappointment for the Team ENGIE athlete who now has his sights set on gold at the European Championships in early November.
September also means a change of club for Luka Mkheidze, who is now joining Paris Saint-Germain Judo, where he will be training alongside Teddy Riner.
He also spoke at the ENGIE Consulting seminar where he shared his experience.
An excellent performance in the Mediterranean Beach Games for Axel Mazella. The Team ENGIE kitesurfer took second place in Heraklion.
Alongside Alex Caizergues, who has been our Kite Surf ambassador since 2009, ENGIE is supporting ten high-level athletes this year as part of the French Sports Foundation’s “Performance Pact”. The goal for the ten Team ENGIE athletes is naturally to qualify and compete in next summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games which will take place in Paris.
Team ENGIE, supporting their performance, revealing their talent!
