360 energized high schoolers!

By ENGIE - 17 July 2024 - 16:12

ENGIE recently welcomed tenth grade students from all over France for two weeks of work experience. It included a broad introduction to the energy sector, workshops, presentations and even a closing ceremony! Katell, a student from Mureaux, gave us the tour.

ENGIE Solutions, ENGIE Green, ENGIE Vianeo, Tractebel, ENGIE HQ and other Group entities opened their doors to these youngsters to give them a rewarding work experience opportunity and an overview of the energy sector professions.

From operations and maintenance, engineering, sales, through support functions such as human resources, legal, finance and communications, each student was able to discover a unique facet of the sector.

During their two week stint, the high schoolers took part in a host of stimulating and educative activities:

  • Climate and human factor frescos: awareness raising of the social and environmental stakes
  • Escape games : playful challenges to help them understand energy transition issues
  • Energy Ninja virtual game: a fun introduction to responsible energy consumption
  • CV and letter of motivation workshops, interviews, job pitches, so many precious tools to help them prepare their professional future
  • Visits to flagship sites: from the T1 Tower in La Défense, through immersive tours of regional technical sites.

Upon completion of the placement, each student was awarded a "Future Transition Maker" diploma, to mark their entry into the world of energy transition.

This work experience was more than a mere initiation: it was the first step along a path of potential opportunity in the form of work-linked training.

Well done and thank you to the 92 employees in France who mobilized to make this initiative possible.

See you next year for a new and even more rewarding edition!

For young people who want to pursue this adventure, ENGIE currently has 600 work-linked training offers available via its CFA (apprentice training center). A golden opportunity to continue to grow within a leading energy transition company.

In the video below, Séverine Barbot tells us how the Group's employees came together to welcome these young people in the best possible conditions.
