FOSTERING INDIVIDUAL POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT TO PRESERVE NATURE!

SPONSORSHIP AND PATRONAGE

By Engie - 05 June 2024 - 10:23

stamp environmentAs the oceans and forests play an essential role in reducing CO2 emissions and protecting biodiversity, we support a variety of local projects to encourage nature preservation. Through initiatives supporting oceans, forests, and biodiversity, as well as the development of green cities and more localized consumption, we stand with all those working to improve our collective well-being.

We do this by way of several concrete undertakings:

Counting on young people

ENGIE supports the Roots & Shoots program run by the Jane Goodall Institute France to raise young people's awareness of environmental issues and encourage them to take action for a better world. This collaboration helps the Institute to organize educational activities and community projects for the protection of nature, such as reforestation and biodiversity awareness schemes.

At the heart of exploration

Since 2022, we have been working alongside project leaders supported by the Paul-Émile Victor fund to encourage and financially support exploration and research projects around the world in fields such as oceanography, glaciology, architecture and the humanities.

In 2024, we created the Prix de l'Exploration au Féminin (research prize), which rewards a project led by a female or predominantly female team, and aims to promote the role of women in scientific fields where they are still under-represented.

Supporting the women cultivating our future

ENGIE supports the Farm'Her program, offered at the Hectar agricultural campus, which aims to support women's entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. This program allows them to develop their leadership and more broadly it aims to revitalize agriculture in France by responding to the current challenges related to the ecological, social and environmental transition in this sector.

Marie Tabarly's world tour on board the Pen-Duick VI

By partnering with navigator Marie Tabarly and her Elemen'Terre Legacy project, which aims to connect partner companies to an educational program adapted to each territory, ENGIE is launching a dialogue with young people on the preservation of local ecosystems. This involves education and practical application on three key topics: biodiversity, coastal preservation and low-tech economic activities.
