Location: Lagos, with possible national business trips

These systems are designed to power a greater number of appliances in homes and businesses (C&I applications), thereby increasing access to electricity.

Job Purpose

  • The Technical supervisor for Solar Business Solutions (SBS) plays a vital role in advancing the organizations commitment to sustainable energy by ensuring the seamless execution of SBS installations and maintenance. This position focuses on overseeing the technical aspects of the project implementation and ongoing maintenance with key responsibilities that include site inspection, assessment, system design, implementation and post – installation management

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical site inspection for SBS projects to assess feasibility and gather relevant data for solar installation projects.
  • Perform detailed assessments and design proposals to identify the best possible solar energy solutions based on customer requirements and site conditions.
  • Coordinate and oversee the installation process, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage and provide technical guidance to the installation team, ensuring efficient and high-quality project execution.
  • Develop and prepare accurate bill of quantities (BOQ) for various projects, considering all necessary components and materials.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, installers, and other stakeholders to address any challenges or concerns.
  • Prepare regular reports, including project status updates, financial analysis, and performance evaluations.
  • Provides technical after-sales support to ensure customers' satisfaction.
  • System commissioning and sign-off job completion certificate to ascertain customer acknowledgement for job completion and satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to solar energy installations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, installers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for all installations.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Higher National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Registration and certification with relevant regulatory bodies will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in site inspections, system design, and implementation of C&I solar energy solutions.
  • Good knowledge of electrical installation, cable routing, consumer unit analysis for load separation and new installation where required.
  • Able to take initiative and work independently and as a team.
  • Strong technical expertise and knowledge of solar energy systems, components, and installation practices.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and perform review and analysis of project data.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality results within specified timelines.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage project costs and ensure profitability.
  • Reflective attitude with a desire to learn and develop professionally.
  • Willingness to travel and work on site for a long duration of time.
  • High work ethic and a positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration.
